what would you do?

i brought a sp estringer about 4 months ago and althought the mounting and clamps are decent, the electronic tensioner is giving me and my son fits. i can send it back to silent partner and get at least 250 dollars for it and then get the silent partner maestro. or i could just keep it and order a alpha revo or a gamma table top. the maestro is 850 including shipping. with the 250 dollar trade in it's about the same as the revo and gamma. now the maestro has top of the line 3 tooth dd clamps, spring assist, beautiful turntable, stand, side arms adjust with one knob. it is second to none in the manual catagory. what would you do? i'm ordering torromow, my wife is finally letting me.

I never used a sp stringer but I was at one point considering the aria. The maestro looks to have the same clamps, and mounting system. I really like the idea of the one knob adjustments. If you can get it for the same price as the revo or the gamma I would probably get the sp. I have a revo and am very happy with it, but the maestro does have some things that the revo does not.

I have never heard much about the Maestro - positive or negative. Hopefully someone on the board has one and can give you some insights.

I love the Revo, but since it is a wash money wise - I might take a chance on the Maestro. You probably could add the wise head down the road, and have a crank backup. I have had the Wise for one year now. It is a great upgrade.

I would always reccomend at stand alone machine over a table top...Much easier and when not in use, just slide it in the corner.

Good Luck with your purchase.

thanks

thanks for the suggestions.

i went ahead and ordered the maestro, silent partner customer support was very very nice helping me make the trade. when the maestro comes in i am going to try to put up a picture if i can.
