i have been using nxt for over a year now and i like the way it feels, i dont have any breakage issues but dont like how fast the strings loose tension and go dead...what would be a better alternative to nxt...i am open to any suggestions...

Probabaly only natural gut would be better. A hybrid gut/nxt should be better than all nxt.

Sting it both ways, and take notes on tension stability, feel, etc.

Did you try the NXT OS version?

In the Babolat line, Syntronic Brio and Powergy come the closest to NXT. Attraction, Attraction Power and FiberTour are all relatively firm, medium-power strings; and FiberTour--a good string too--now comes just in a 16...

Better than NXT in the sense that they hold tension/playing properties longer. Also better in terms of durability. An expensive string like NXT that plays great for 4 - 6 hours and then loses it is not practical for those trying to maintain a reasonable string budget. If you are looking for multi alternatives to NXT you could explore any of the good quality multis listed below:

Technifiber Bi-Phase
Yonex Super 850
Laserfibre Phenom
Signum Pro Fiber High Tec EXP
Head FXP
Wilson NXT OS
