I've heard a lot of this Superb Owl talk lately, and it has me intrigued. Are we all referring to the same thing, i.e. the famous Ornimegalonyx oteroi of the Pleistocene period? I've always wanted to go to Cuba to see their habitats and imagine what it would've been like so many billions of years ago. Fig 1. A superb owl I thought maybe the whole hubbub was another mistake of mine, as when I was excited to hear about renewed interest in the famous Chouette Hulotte of Orly, France. I was dismayed to find I was quite mistaken and the Orly owl was somewhat snowy. Please, they only inhabit the Shetland Isles. They never go as far south as France.
