I was just wondering.. Which is better NXT 16 or NXT Tour 16?

In terms of ARM SAFETY-- COMFORT esp., power/control and Tension maitainence?

:?: B/c i usually use the TOUR, its really nice on the arm.. i like it.. But it gets so sloppy after a while.. And i was wondering if the plain Ol' NXT was liked by any one better?? :?:

Have you ever tried the NXT OS? what does it play like?

Thanks..!!

O by the way.. Is NXT more crisper and not as soft as the Tour due to less fibers in it?

What the...? NXT OS is exactly the same string only in a longer length for oversize racquets. Talk about mis-information on these boards.

Haha, you're right AJK1. NXT Tour is the best multi that Wilson makes. Kinda like Babolat Xcel Premium, both nice strings.

They both play great for a short period of time, the fraying really starts to wear down on the playability. According to me the NXT Tour maintains it's tension a little better. If you're a string breaker you probably aren't playing with these strings.

Technifibre X-1 Biphase does all that NXT does and:

- Holds tension better
- Less string movement
- Is more durable

I switched from NXT to the X-1 (17 & 18) and am MUCH happier...prices are about the same, I believe.

You're kidding me right

You're kidding me right . . . too many differences to mention . . . not worth the time . . . Bud

Next after NXT

There's got to be something about that X-1 that gets people motivated because I'm starting to find some players around me liking it, so there's some plusses to the X-1 though I haven't used it so I wonder what it is that surpasses the NXT?

Boy NXT can go dead after a while and it really has no life in it and you have to change it. (Nevertheless I play on with dead strings out of intertia and indolence and played crud the other night.) So a multi has to play past its use-by date. Like it or not. No sponsorship here.

Technifibre strings fray quickly but they enliven your court time like no other.

This is incorrect. Very different constructions among NXT, NXT Tour and NXT OS -- check out the wilsonsports web site.

I played with NXT but burned thru it too quickly. I switched to NXT Max and it definitely lasts longer. Still a soft feel with decent action. I tried the X-1 a while ago and if my memory serves me correctly it's not as soft... a bit crisper then the NXT. I actually wasn't a fan. By the way, I've never tried the tour.

Anyone know of another multi that is a soft and durable as NXT Max but with more bite and playability?

About my previous post... it wasn't X-1 that I thought was stiff... it was Laserfibre Supreme... I tried it twice and it was just too stiff. I actually cut it out the second time. I only hit with X-1 once and I honestly don't remember how it was. I may actually get a set and try it again as it seems to be real popular.

I've used the NXT 16 gauge and 17 gauge. I have no clue if they are the 'Tour' ones or not. But what I can say is that I actually like the 16 gauge better. The 17 is too 'springy', powerful and seems to offer less control.
