He plays consistent, consistently, I guess. Not physically big, no big weapons. Seems to play like most other ATP players. Why is he ranked in the top 10 now?
Not much, tbh.
Ruud has one of the heaviest forehands on tour. His spin is on par with Nadal, Berretini etc at about 3500+ RPM.
Also his movement and court IQ is excellent.
Not physically big? 6‘ is perfectly fine to be a great player on the pro tour. Not physically big, no big weapons. Seems to play like most other ATP players. Why is he ranked in the top 10 now?
Problem is people don't even watch tennis, they just comment, unlike you, who knows about tennisRuud has one of the heaviest forehands on tour. His spin is on par with Nadal, Berretini etc at about 3500+ RPM.

Good post sirsuper-heavy forehand, very well conditioned, mentally reliable and professional. Excellent 2nd serve for his size, and 1st serve aight.
he is also one of the few proper top clay specialists around these days, discounting the typical south american journeymen. A Thiem mold type of player essentially, without the single-hander.
if he wants to take the next step, i say he needs to improve his return and backhand a bit more and his ability to counter / his shot tolerance. He is best when he gets to dictate with the forehand.
Not much, tbh.
But he doesn’t have a big weapon. Not physically big? 6‘ is perfectly fine to be a great player on the pro tour.
Not physically big, no big weapons. Seems to play like most other ATP players. Why is he ranked in the top 10 now?
Well saidHe plays consistent, consistently, I guess.
I would say nothing.
Not much, tbh.
Top 10? Mediocre.I would say nothing.
That’s all you need in tennis find your game and stick to it.He’s a one dimensional topspin robot so he appeals to a lot of Nadal fans.
Problem is people don't even watch tennis, they just comment, unlike you, who knows about tennis
No big weapons besides one of the most massive RPM FHs recorded in ATP history. Not physically big, no big weapons. Seems to play like most other ATP players. Why is he ranked in the top 10 now?
He's currently the 10th best player in the world so I guess he must be doing something right.
No big weapons besides one of the most massive RPM FHs recorded in ATP history.
Does look like some nice forehands.
Cablo Parreno Busta?Being Top10 means almost nothing nowadays. CPB was.
Cablo Parreno Busta?
Yeah I’m sure you are top 10 out of 7 billion in many areas…Being Top10 means almost nothing nowadays. CPB was.
So he’s boring?This.
He has also improved his serve drastically from last year. And he does everything without being flashy. A serious young man.
So he’s boring?
