Whats the future of Tsitsipas?

Holic

Semi-Pro
His ohb, ohb return and slice are obviously the worst in the top50. However his forehand, serve, and volley are among the best in the top10.
Do you think he will remain in the top10 the following year?

Musetti is now using kick serves in his backhand, not even first serves and he is getting very weak returns back...Ridiculous...Tsitsipas struggles so much as it seems hes not used to take the balls on the rise with his backhand.

I see him out of the top10 next year.

Obviously needs a larger racquet….maybe go up to 105in. would be the same increase Fed had when he went up to 97 and found greater BH success or did Rog just change his form and tactics :|

ohb worst in top 50? is there any proof.

His future is to be included in a list by Mustard of people who lost French Open finals after winning the first two sets.

Nearing 25 and it still doesn't change the fact that he is at the peak of his career. Too early to really say whether he'll have longevity.
Yeah and he’s getting bullied by Alcaraz and is about/if not already surpassed by Sinner. It’s getting real rough for Stefanos

Extremely unlikely unless he gets injured. A big reason is that he lost first round at the USO last year, he has a chance to earn lots of points there. Same at Wimbledon where he lost 3R in 2022. Another reason is that he's a solid top 10 level player who brings in semis or finals many weeks.
Why do I feel as if I've already read this post of yours in the recent past?

He has a matchup problem against Alcaraz and possibly Rune as well. They keep finding his BH with aggressive and amazing consistency. I really have no idea how he is going to solve that matchup issue. He needs a much better BH of course and a more neutral court positioning. But I don't see that miraculously happen. If Tsitsipas can duck Runecaraz , he could put together a run or two and potentially win a slam or two. Let's not forget, he made 2 slam finals and unfortunately it was Novak on the other side.

I have high hopes from tsitsipas. Let's see tomorrow.

Old Novak in a RG F instead of Rafa was already a massive gift. Especially after a 4h+ SF.

Thiem had a much better backhand and only won 1 grand slam title and he was much better than Tsitsipas at his peak. Good luck hoping for two. Unless the two of them physically collapse, he isn’t winning a slam. Oh and let me throw in Sinner. I’m waiting for their next matchup in a slam. I’m sure the tables will turn the next time they play

After Djokodal are done for good somebody has to win the slams. Tsitsipas can grab 1 or 2 if the stars align.

I agree that Thiem at his best was better.

He can want it all he wants but Alcaraz isn’t going away and Sinner will surpass him by the end of the year, possibly even Rune too. It’s not getting any easier for the Greek
All he wants is win slams and be number 1. Let's see. I think his current game is good enough.

Thiem has managed to beat both Djokovic and Nadal in a slam. Something Tsitsipas can only dream of. Because he actually had a backhand that could keep up with theirs
I'd say he was a bit unlucky in having to beat both Djokodal at RG 2019 and AO 2020. But Tsitsipas never had to encounter this issue.

Good enough?? Have you seen his backhand and ROS? He has never had a season above 80% win rate yet! And he’s in his peak age.. He’s never won a 500 and you think he’s going to be number one?? Please

He won a YEC worth 1500 and 2 masters 1000. But sure, I should be bothered about a freaking 500. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

He's won a couple of 1000's though albeit with laughable draws.
I’m not even discounting that but this guy has never won a 500 and he’s 24 soon to be 25 and his career win percentage hasn’t even touched 70% yet. There’s no signs he will ever become number one. Even when at his best he has never had a season win percentage at or above 80%. Alcaraz at 19 has a 90% win rate so far this season and Sinner at 82%.

He was one match away from becoming no.1 in the AO F, although that really does seem laughable now in hindsight considering his 2022.

He hardly wins any titles and wants to be number one?? To me a real number one should have at least an 85% win rate for one season with multiple big titles and slams

Ok fine. So Med is a choking mug too.

That leaves three players who don't choke. Three.

So is not being one of those three players really "below average"?
It's not about comparing Sinner with those players though. We're criticizing his mental game on its own independent of those 3.

Yes and what progress has he made this year apart from making the AO finals ?
Apart from nothing. As soon as he made a slam final, he is set for this entire year. And don't be daft. He was injured and still played due to atp policy.
Slam finals is not a joke. He beat Sinner on the way, cherry on top. This argument is ridiculous.

Yeah but Sinner has improved leaps and bounds and his win percentage this season is above 80% which Tsitsipas has never achieved yet in his career

The statement I responded to was literally "his mentality is below average"

So is the average something that only three players can meet? Ok

Because he is fit ?
Idk man I have more hopes for Sinner achieving number one over Tsitsipas. Sinner has a higher career win percentage with less matches and is likely to increase as the seasons progresses, same for Alcaraz. Sinner at 70%, Alcaraz at 77%. Stefanos at 68% at the peak age of 24
