Whats the future of Tsitsipas?

Idk man I have more hopes for Sinner achieving number one over Tsitsipas. Sinner has a higher career win percentage with less matches and is likely to increase as the seasons progresses, same for Alcaraz. Sinner at 70%, Alcaraz at 77%
I don't think sinner is anywhere close to number 1 until he can win a good tournament. And his serve still sucks and he is 22? I value serve and forehand a lot more than return and backhand.

You have to break serve to win big titles. Nole never had a good serve from 07-10’ and was top three in the world. Once he improved his serve he became number 1 immediately in 11’

Nole has great serve in 2007/08. I think second half of 09 he started tweaking serve and he was horrendous in 2010. Sinner is not anywhere near to Nole serve.

Yeah but Sinner is about to enter the top five with that pathetic serve! Imagine when he does improve it!

The serve is a lot easier to fix than the return
If it is easier to fix we will see. I think a lot of fans go too deep thinking the serve is easy to fix. If that's the thing, Andy Murray couldn't fix his second serve in his life and even for his first serve he never had a good +1 shot. Why is that. People just overestimate returns and underestimate serves, that's what I feel.

Old Novak in a RG F instead of Rafa was already a massive gift. Especially after a 4h+ SF.
The AO was in his backyard man. Tsitsi was not winning that one. The RG should have been in the bag. It was clear he lacked the big match experience in hindsight. He dropped his intensity after the 1st 2 sets and Novak pounced. I am of the firm belief that you need a bit of luck to get the first breakthrough. Med got a tired Novak who was on fumes. Alcaraz had to face neither Novak or Nadal. Unfortunately for Stef, he faced a decent and pretty hungry Djokovic both times.

That RG loss was a huge missed opportunity given how everything had aligned for him.

Yes, the AO was Novak's backyard, but he was 35+ and carrying an injury. You're telling me he can't even win a set in the prime of his career? Imagine Nadal and Djokovic getting intimidated by Federer in his backyard.

I feel bad that Sinner didn’t make the final. Yes I would’ve expected Sinner to flop fully but I believe he would’ve given the Serb a better run for his money in that finals. Maybe a tight four sets or if he was determined enough maybe even five

Stef is definitely not in the same tier as Novak or Nadal. Let's be clear on that.

1st slam final against Novak at AO. Knowing Sinner's track record in big finals, I would say straight set loss with a bakery product.

Anyways I’m waiting for the day Sinner passes your guy in the rankings and will likely stay above him. Pretty sure it will happen by Wimbledon

With a returner like Novak, Sinner's mediocre serve will be under pressure of being broken every single time. And on a slam final at AO, Sinner would have choked pretty badly. So yeah, straight set loss with a bakery or 2.
Either way he’s never winning one. I foresee a drop in the rankings for Tsitsipas by the year end and the guy who he has a hard time with in the fourth round will be ahead of him by the end of the year, possibly would’ve achieved more this year and have more titles

Oh and be prepared to see your guy lose to Sinner the next time they meet in a slam. Mark my words he’s going to lose

Until proven otherwise, Sinner's best skill so far has been neither the forehand and backhand, but it's been the ability to choke in big matches. So maybe you should stop worrying about Tsitsipas and hope that your guy can somehow stop cr**ping his pants in every single big match of his career.

Hahaha. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he won a slam this year. Just be worried the next time they play in a slam, Tsitsipas may have to rely on his bathroom breaks to bail him out from losing in straights. But believe me, he’s going to get it done before Tsitsipas. Right @Jonesy ?

Taking another loss to Alcaraz tomorrow. I don't think Tsitsipas will ever beat Carlos, so we can expect a record to rival Djokofils.

His ohb, ohb return and slice are obviously the worst in the top50. However his forehand, serve, and volley are among the best in the top10.
Do you think he will remain in the top10 the following year?

Musetti is now using kick serves in his backhand, not even first serves and he is getting very weak returns back...Ridiculous...Tsitsipas struggles so much as it seems hes not used to take the balls on the rise with his backhand.

I see him out of the top10 next year.
He still managed to beat Musetti, right? So, what's the problem? Everyone has weaknesses. He compensates his weaknesses with his forehand.

He's trying to improve his slice, volley and return.

Not sure which tour you guys are watching but that TPas/Muchete match was one of the best I've seen in a while
It’s definitely the best he’s played since the AO. And his best performance on clay after 2021. Stef getting his groove back. Probably won’t be enough for today, but if he can make it deep in Rome, then he’ll be well prepared for a good RG.

I just see him losing more points. He won’t be defending that Rome final I can assure you and I’ll pick Sinner/Alcaraz/Rune over him in Madrid, or even Fritz

Until he develops mental strength, he'll plateau where he's at now--win a couple reg tour events a year (maybe a MS 1000 against a surprise finalist), but never win the big ones against the top players like Nadal, Alcaraz, Meddy, NoVaxx, etc. Probably needs a new coach too, as Tsitsipas Sr is an utter and complete MESS

What is the "beef" you have with the Greek?
His arrogance annoys me. I don’t see good things for his career. Unquestionably he hasn’t improved and the depth of the field has increased and I hope I never see him win another big title

He hasn’t even won a 500. He’s about to be 0-10 in 500 finals tomorrow. The only reason why he’s a two time masters champion is because Djokovic sucks at Monte Carlo. Otherwise he wouldn’t be a masters champion

I can’t see a possibility of Tsitsipas leaving the Top 10 unless he gets some kind of catastrophic injury.

If you look at his total match wins in recent years he is something of a winning machine. Super consistent. He can really rack up the ranking points and that is with a couple years under his belt of people trying to figure out his game.

I don’t think he is leaving the top 10 any time soon.

On a negative point, since the Australian Open I have changed my mind about his chances of winning a major. I hate to say it but I no longer believe he will ever take a major, even though I think he is a chance to make quite a few more major finals and be a top player for many years to come.

With that backhand, it is almost impossible for him to win a Major tournament, I also perceive it.
:D

What changed me the most in my opinion of Tsitsipas was how much his forehand broke down in the AO final. That was incredibly surprising / shocking to me. It was the thing I was honestly least worried about and it was horrible in that final.

Clay tennis is my favourite form of the game, and Tsitsipas can be magical on clay, but I have changed my opinion on whether he can ever take a major title. It’s just always going to be too hard for him to get over the line in a major final I think.
