What's the point...?

This is a question mostly addressed to Wilson people in the boards. So what is the point to release for pre-sale a new Pro Staff 90 racquet when it is clear that Federer will be using a 98 or 95 frame? In the TW Europe site it says the PS 90 is endorsed by Roger Federer instead of saying that it is Roger Federer's racquet.
I mean most people who buy racquets based on what pros use will look for the one from the Wilson line that is closest to the one Roger plays.
Is a Federer version going to be released?

And also the re-use of the Pro Staff name, does it mean that Wilson have run out of inventing something new? It is something like admitting that we can't find anything new or that the ncodes the kfactors the blxs etc could not grow bigger than our classic Pro Staff heritage. So we are going back there a bit.

I think a lack of "improvements" shows that Wilson feels they are getting it right with their pro staff design. A lack of changes is also great for people who already have pro staffs and want more. If Wilson wanted to add a couple of bells and whistles that really do nothing, and call it improvements, they could. Racquet companies do it all the time.

I read it feels more solid.

I find this fascinating..

the whole thread implies that the only reason people buy the PS90 is 'cos of the Fed..

I thought these things were supposed to be the be all and end all of racquet awesomeness???

too funny

of course, the irony is they really ARE great frames, but I sense a reduction in sales looming :)
