What's this? It's not serious?

NAdal should act in a war film where the hero is injured and still lives his life and fights for his daily meal.
He will get an Academy Award for the role comes naturally to him.

(Not that I know of)

This is an SCANDAL. Nadal faking an injury AGAIN when he is having a hard time in a Slam. This is ridiculous.... and then they call us "fed ****s" or something like that when we say that Nadal is not a fair player. He is not the best.

S**t, apparently the rankings seem to disagree.

Also, with you having the inside track on the SCANDAL of Nadal faking his injury, I think you should take it to the press.

Expose the mallorcan. Do it.

Ok, so let me get this straight:

- Tennis viewers all over the world witness the incident

- The trainer that took a look at him can't figure from his description where he's injured. This was heard on the live mic by tennis players all over the world

- Nadal comes back after the MTO running around hitting trademark huge topspin winners from either side, despite fearing he has a broken foot

- The ESPN commentators tells tennis players (finally) that he's a faker citing his past 'performances' in tight matches. These commentators are NOT *******s the last time I checked.

Unbiased fans do not see a problem with the whole fiasco, citing 2 incidents of Fed pulling a similar stunt.

I give up.

Patrick Mcenroe has done it today, and it was a bit surprising because he is more of a Rafa fan than a Roger fan.

Actually what I heard from my choppy stream was the trainer(or was it the administrator guy) that it was an unusual place to get a injury in(outside of the back foot, basically near heel) and I kept hearing that it was on the bone or something like that(couldn't make it out).

Gotta let the people take it in and accept it

Exactly right. You know when Patrick McEnroe and the ESPN commentators are talking about this on national tv that there is an issue here. McEnroe has always been a huge Rafa supporter. Kudos for ESPN for having the courage to discuss this openly. Enough already.

Rafa watches waay too many soccer matches if he is faking injury this much :p

Seriously, if he's injuring himself so much, why doesn't he change his style of play to one that is less injury prone? Unless he really isn't injured...

And as such it would have been impossible for him to continue the match if there was any real injury there. I heard that too. And you know what? That is exactly where his last foot fracture was, and as such I also know that you do not play with a foot fracture no matter how many painkillers you have taken.

He was obviously faking it. He probably felt something, and was like "hrm, looks like a tough set, might as well!" He insisted on treatment despite the fact that the trainer was looking at him strangely, because if he had reinjured that foot he should be in immense pain.

my sources in argentina indicate that juan martin del potro is now officially a cripple....juan gomez of tandil a long-time family friend told reuters del potro has has had successful hip replacement surgery today..."his playing career is over but he'll still need to walk with a cane to protect his grotesque limp" said the dirt-poor farmer..asked how del potro was able to play and move so well after the tragic fall and injury gomez said "juan martin is not too bright, he should have retired but did it for the fans, and now his tennis life is finished, he'll be watching wimbledon on tv from now on with the rest of us"...rip, the terribly injured juan martin del potro

Listen, the ESPN crew just came out and stated that there is a history of Nadal and injuries when he is losing. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see it, no matter who the players are. Yes, Federer I am sure has used injuries in the past as an excuse for poor playing performances, but, he is not the guy who takes MTO's in tournaments when he is losing. People need to shut up and be objective and take a step back and see this pattern no matter how much they idolize a player. It is what it is. Enough with the excuses.

Except that he got "injured" when he was ahead.
I put the word injured in quotes to accomodate the haters.

He got "injured" when Del Potro was serving to stay in the set. Either Del Potro loses the set and they take a medical TO during the break between sets, or they take a medical TO before the TB. Either way it helps Nadal.

I just don't believe it. You seriously mean that they have a tv set in that backwater Argentine burg?

Rafael Nadal
Good morning everybody. Yesterday after the match I went to take an MRI at a London hospital. During the match I thought I had something serious but as the match went through the pain got better and thankfully the tests don't show an injury. Today I will practice at 4.30 pm and I'll play tomorrow. Thanks all for the support.

Translation:

during the match yesterday, I was about to lose the first set TB. So I says to myself, I mean usselves (me and & Uncle Toni).....we have an injury. we thinks we hears something crunch. so we must call MTO. then we manipulates everyone into thinking we are hurt.....all the better to surprise them when I run and jump around. wes afraid of that big strong guy who mugged us at the US Open. we must protect what is OURS! Don't let anyone tells us we are tricksy, false! But of course they knows, the eye the television eye is always watching us, so we have to admit we have no injury so we can go play now. But always reminding everyone how hurts we were. And hurts we will be again!

Nadal talks like smeagol now :)

Wow, can you be any more obtuse? He hurt himself when getting SET POINT. What kind of a STUPID move would that be if it was fake? He was winning. He called for the trainer during the game when he still had the chance to win.Of course he played three very bad points where he obviously couldn't move properly, and was quite lucky to win the set. The trainer didn't look at him strangely at all, you're straight up lying. The MRI revealed that the foot wasn't broken. Not that he wasn't experiencing pain.

It's crazy how insane with hatred people around here. Grow up folks.

LOL. How? Please explain how. Do you play tennis? At all?

NADAL UPDATE: From 5live tennis correspondent Jonathan Overend, we hear early indications are that Nadal's injury is not serious and he will be able to play tomorrow. However, we are still awaiting the official result of Nadal's MRI scan.

Not serious? Well I never...

I need to sit down. The shock, it's just too much.

I know! I am stunned. I tell you stunned.

Yet here is a headline from today:

"Nadal to play despite foot injury"

And clearly, the evidence of said "foot injury":

Having a break point doesn't mean you're "winning". If that were the case, Federer would have never lost a single match to Nadal.

He is allowed to take some "intermissions", I hope ?
After all, it's only a movie, not a real war, where there are no timeouts :D
