Whats up with TV coverage of the Ericsson Open

I've been getting sporadic TV coverage of the Ericsson Open all week (I'm in Tennessee). A match here and there on three different channels (Fox Sports, Sports South, and the Tennis Channel). But last night no Nadal vs Blake, and today no tennis coverage on any channels. So no Federer vs Roddick. This is a major tournament with major players and the TV coverage stinks. Seems like tennis has become the ******* stepchild of TV only to be shown when there's nothing else going on.

Sky Sports is the answer. It has full time multi-court coverage (you chose from at least 3 matches at any one time) of Miami with great commentators, highlights shows and interviews - part of the Masters Series TV coverage.
I don't know if you can get Sky Sports in Tennessee though so try one of the online live streams on the internet, they will definitely show FedRod.

well, i live in south florida and the coverage has been just as sporadic (verging on non-existent). i wanted to actually attend, but schedule and circumstances didn't allow. thought i would hang my hat on a little tv action . . . but . . .

i haven't turned on my tv yet this morning, not that it matters cos the programming guide is a bit of a crapshoot . . . but i can tell you that fed/roddick is the first match of the night session tonight, 7pm. the fact that roddick is playing practically guarantees SOME kind of coverage, so don't worry, you'll see it . . . at some point tonight . . . on one of those channels.

I'm in South Florida too. According to the digital program guide (Comcast), the match will be aired on FSN (ch 39 in Broward County) at 10pm...so it looks like it's going to be tape delayed since the match starts at 7pm on stadium court. FSN is airing MLB Tampa Bay at Baltimore LIVE from 7pm-10pm.

I checked the Tennis Channel website TV listings and they are not showing it scheduled...although you never know.

FSN in the northwest has been showing a little more than they did at Indian Wells, but not much. We did get Nadal/Blake.

UPDATE: I am watching FSN right now and the pre-game show commentary is stating that the Tampa Bay vs Baltimore game is a rain out...do ya' think FSN will air the Fed vs Roddick Live at 7pm??? It's about 15 min to the start of the match. Get the DVD recorder ready...I think we may have a shot at seeing the match after all.

UPDATE #2: Ok the match is on Live right now on SUNSHINE CHANNEL (ch 38 Comcast South Florida). The info guide is stating that it is the "Florida Fishing Report"...this is some bizzaro programming!!!!
