They've played twice at Wimbledon, with the last meeting, henin winning.

but that is what I like about you>>> your attention to detail.

I already corrected my mistake. And, Serena was injured in that match. Remember, she had the calf and thumb injury from the Hantuchova match in the 4th round. But, the rain saved her, otherwise she would have lost in the 4th round.

I see they aren't very bright. Just whiny little cry babies.
I think some of their personal issues have begaun to surface, but I won't totally hold that against them. There's a recession going on and its tough out there for the tennis fan with less-than-average intelligence.

Like most babies, they need nurturing, and Mother Marjorie is the perfect one to do it!

I read what you wrote and my opinion hasn't changed.

Henin retired from a tennis match in the 2006 AO final. She claimed she was ill. Can you prove otherwise? What shenanigan?

FO 2003, that was a total screw-up by the chair umpire. It wasn't Henin's job to officiate that match.

Why are you trying to debate "lack of court integrity" "bad sportsmanship" when we all saw this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO_jlXjgxN8

That's exactly I was trying to explain. What's the point of having a chair umpire anyway if he can't have the final word. The umpire made the right decision...if he didn't see the play, then he can't do nothing about. Serena should be angry or blame on the umpire, not Henin. Makes no sense for Serena going after Henin when it was the umpire not paying attention.

You can debate all day about who was at fault in the infamous hand incident but facts are facts. Justine did put her hand up and when she was asked whether or not she did so,she said she did'nt. Why is this completely walked around by fans of Justine. I don't see the SW fans saying that what she did at the USO was appropriate or justified. Everyone including her fans say she was wrong. It just seems a little desperate to try to defend Justine by saying it was the umpire's fault. You are saying it was o.k for Justine to say she did'nt put her hand up when she most certainly did. You see her putting her hand up in the tape and when asked she denied it. This is really way over the top, especially for posters who are proclaiming how intelligent they are and how stupid others are. It can't hurt to be honest at least one day out of the year.

MM: Can you read? Please stop putting arguments in my mouth.

Where did I say Justine isnt a champion? Where did I say she only won the FO( or any title ) b/c she cheated her way there? Where in any of this thread did I even imply that? Did I say Justine is classless and has dubious on court integrity? Damn right, and the facts bear that out! Did I say Serena was wrong for the USO and that she deserved to be suspended for the AO? Damn right, and Im *sure* you would agree the facts bear that out.

See, unlike you, I dont make hyperbolic false claims about players I dont care for. When they are right I give them credit, when they are wrong I call them on it. In short, Im everything that Serena-haters/Justine-****s are not-objective.

So is Justine a champion? Yes. Is she the best clay courter of her generation? Yes. Does she not improve the WTA by leaps and bounds by unretiring? Yes Has she won all her titles by her own merit? Yes Has she been a gracious competitor all the way? Hell no. Has Serena been a gracious competitor all the way? Hell no.

Is she(Justine) a likeable player? Imo, no. Is she a good sportswoman? Hell no, imo. Do I care for her as a player? No. But that doesnt blind me to her good nor drive me to spew vitriol either. If for no other reason that 1) Justine could give a flying baguette what I think and 2) why would I waste my energy on her like that?

You are one of the few posters here that I have seen try to be fair and objective SLD. It's hard to have a debate when a lot of posters just won't relinquish the hate. The venom I see posted here is just shameful. I see ridiculous posts coming from both sides. I have respect for your opinions whether I agree with them or not. It's refreshing to see someone post about someone they don't like without being hateful or posting ridiculous responses just to try and support their opinion. I thought this was a tennis forum, not a place to spew hate and venom.

And again, Serena's incident had nothing to do with cheating or gamesmanship. Big difference between that incident and Justine's tactics. Besides, Justine's antics happened going on 7 years yet it is STILL talked about at breadth to this day. Did you watch the AO final? Because they sure brought it up again and showed the video and Mary Carillo, who I don't even like, surely mentioned it a few times in that match. ...

Justine tactics?
There was ONE controversial incident SEVEN years ago.
And no, Henin wasn't threating a lineswomen with physical harm in that.

BTW, on Belgian TV there no mention of this incident any more.
But Serena having threatened this lineswoman at the USO 09 in ghetto language will be mentioned for decades to come.
So what's you point with US TV?

Nothing this generation has produced is bigger than Riggs vs King. Nothing. Riggs vs King was the most watched, most attended, most talked about, most relived tennis match in the history of tennis. You are dead wrong.

It wasn't on TV in Europe.
Don't know about Asia though.

Unprepared? Did you see the footage? Serena was in full wind up when Justine put her hand up!

Justine was not prepared.
Serena realised that and decided to serve anyway.
Only then Justine put her hand up.
Serena missed.
AND wanted a second first serve!!!

Its not a debate. Pretty much every tennis pundit on the planet called Justine out for the FO and for the AO as well as Serena for the USO.

Its only a debate to you.

When the AO match was going down, illness or not, all the commentators were saying how 'unfortunate' it was that Henin couldnt hang on to give Mauresmo a chance to hear Game. Set. Match. And 'unfortunate' is commentator-speak for classless and bad form. ....

On American TV?
Well, Henin is a threat to US top players.

Go figure ...

MM: again...name me one pundit, commentator or otherwise sober objective professional viewer of tennis that didnt call Henin out for the FO semi or the AO final?

Don't worry, I'll wait. ...

I have never heard any commentator say that Justine faked her illness during the AO 06. Yes, it was unfortunate for Mauresmo.

BTW, Serena is the world record holder in retirements.
Name one player who retired more during matches than her.

See kids this is the kind of Mis-information that forum cred creates........ This is so wrong I don't even know where to begin. First of all, Serena has a grand total of 12 retirements during matches. She has been on tour for 14 seasons, that averages to less than 1 a year.

because they're black then.

I don't want to hear anything about disliking them because they're arrogant in their pressers. Roger is arrogant in his pressers most of the times and many on this board would glady hand over their life savings to kiss at least one of his hairy arse cheeks.

how can you accuse Roger of being arrogant when people like Tsonga go leaping around and jabbing their thumbs at themselves whenever they win a match? compared to most players Federer isn't arrogant at all

Women fake "things" all the time for obvious reasons (you should know).

However, if Henin said she was ill, and no one can prove otherwise, I trust her.

^ which illustrates how naive you are...probably in the same way you "trust" those who told you that you were able to satisfy them......

We are discussing Henin, Serena and other multiple slam winners here.
Not the Bartholis of this world.

Serena has by FAR the most retirements of all top players in the open era.
HER fans criticising Henin for a retirement due to illness is more than hypocrisy.
It is pure unalloyed hate.

At first it was one player, now it's just top players. Change the facts when we see how big a fool you are. People like you are not worth even debating with. There's a place in Washington for guys like you, though. :)

Now I'll keep it real....the william sisters hate or whatever the OP is trying to talk about is simply the double standards that black people have to deal with in this planet. Its simple. A black guy will always be considered second class to a white guy no matter wherever he goes in this world...even africa. Just learn to live with it..... and maybe joke about it like that cool ***** Dave Chappelle.

You are
a) criticising Henin for retiring in a match
AND
b) an fan of Serena's who has the most retirements of all multiple slam winners.

That speak for itself and shows what a girl you are.

Henin had a lot of trouble with illnesses.
And you know it.
Serena had many very suspicious retirements. She is the world record holder in retirements among multiple slam winners.

And? Your point is?

Like I said, Serena is injury prone. That is no secret. Ever since her knee surgery in 2003 which took her out for over 6 months, she's had recurring troubles w/ the knees. That's the reason for so many retirements in the smaller events. When was the last time Serena retired in a slam, let alone a slam final? If you're trying to say Serena throws matches, what incentive would there be? If you're trying to say Serena isn't tough, um no, she played and won a match at Wimbledon vs Hantuchova after badly cramping up on court and then lost to Henin the next round.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxpQSWLDekU

So again, what's your point? Serena has a lot of retirements; she also has a lot of slams, and that's what's going to be remembered in the long run.

For me, I don't hate Serena's game or whatever she does in her life. I hate the part where:

1. She intimidate her apponent on court. Physically threaten another person. Not being a class act after a loss but being a sore loser. Thank god it's not a contact sport.

2. Her fans are very biased toward her. They practice double standard just to defend her at all cost. Even when you provided all the evidences about everything she did on/off court, and her achievement only qualify her a tier 2 great at best, they will ignore everything and talk nonsense with little or no substances.
