What's wrong with guys?

So I went to the mall with a couple of my friends today, and at one point we were all just standing in one place. They started checking out girls that passed by, and rated them on a scale of 1-10.

Anyways, this made me think, What happened to all the sweet, dorky, chivalrous guys in the world?
Or is it all sex obsessed fiends and your love life totally depends on what kind of moves you have?

Guys have been 'rating' girls, and girls have been 'rating' guys for hundreds of years, if not forever. As long as they were being discreet about it, it's just....people being people.

Go practice your forehand, girls and guys are both attracted to people who are fit and successful in any field :)
 
I just don't understand how a guy can look at someone and say "I'd bang her". Or how a girl will take someone when all most guys think about is sex

me neither. but then, i don't understand why girls would be geishas strippers ****s and stuff in order to seduce those guys.

I'd like to think that, but after talking to my buddies again I don't know. One of them said he's never liked a girl for any other reason then her looks. Even the assistant coach (he's 20) of my b-ball team asked me once, "Hey if i found you a girl would you sleep with her?"

Maybe I should just accept that people are shallow and let it go.

It is only a normal thing to do. Have you never seen a girl and thought to yourself 'what a nice anatomical part'??? Also, nice guys don't have to be 'dorks' and vice versa.

Did you know these dorky, sweet, chivalrous guys? Were they your friends or something? Or did you see them in a movie?

That's what guys do. The same ones that rate girls are the sweet chivalrous guys. When they're with their male friends, guys might act like pigs. When they meet a girl they really like, they behave differently. This shouldn't bother you.

Try really hard to avoid making this your schtick, being the ultra sensitive guy, especially if girls don't hit on you a lot. I've known a lot of guys who don't have much success with girls adopt this schtick in a transparent attempt to make their failures with girls seem like some kind of virtue. No, it's not that they can't laid, it's they choose celibacy, you know.

Don't be so hard on your friends. And if you meet a girl who likes sex, don't think of her as a *****. If you want to save it for marriage, good for you. But on your way there, don't get too preoccupied with judging others. :)

first thing...the majority of the guys lounging around at the mall all the time aren't the "sweet, dorky, chivalrous" guys. Plus, they are young...so you know what's on their mind most of the time (and the fact that when in a group - guys tend to do immature things).

If anything, that's pretty normal behavior.

Maybe you need to post more detail as to why their behaviour bothered you. That way it will be easier for us (the forum) to psychoanalyse you and recommend a solution.

Oh my god, dude, don't feel bad about yourself. I hope I didn't come off as too harsh. I almost feel bad that you agreed so whole-heartedly with what I said. I'm so stunned that somebody on the internet admitted they may have been wrong, whether justly so or not, that I feel icky inside.

You seem like a really good kid. Don't sweat it. Yeah, guys are pigs. I almost want to say guys in high school are pigs, and maybe hormones make them hornier and dorkier than older guys, but you'll see that guys stay pigs for a long time. Oink oink, pal.
 
I was pissed off because some of those guys already had girls. So maybe I'm jealous of all guys that have it easy with girls on a subconscious level.

I'm just saying that when push comes to shove, some people just say derogatory things like that to be funny or to convey approval of one's looks. Would I really like to hit the sack with Andy Roddick? Of course I would. Would your friend really like to bang anything with a heartbeat? Probably not. Think of it that way.
 
So then what do you think the difference is between them and you that makes it (or has made it in the past) easier for them?

Sorry bout making you feel icky, haha. Another that makes me different from most teenage boys, I know when I'm wrong/what I do wrong. And I think about my past actions to the point of over analyzing myself. Torturing myself, maybe. At least I won't do the same thing 3 times :lol:
