I'm nadal fan and my favorite match when rafa ended up losing was AO 2012 final... definitely one of the most epic matches of all time... grand slam finals of the last couple of years are a big bore for me..

We should rather focus on the good tennis regardless if our favorites are winning or playing in the matches..

Fav match that Nadal lost: AO 2012 (same choice as you)
Fav match of Ferrer: Nishikori Madrid 2014 (epic stuff!)
Murray: Australian open 2012 semi final (lost to Djokovic in 5)
Tsonga: French open 2012 QF (lost to Djokovic in 5, missed a match point)

Major headscratcher here. Virtually impossible to think of any less appealing grand slam final in the last 20 years.

57.40 seconds per point. Let that sink in for a minute. Pun intended.

I really wanted Federer to win Wimbledon last year, it felt like his last chance, and for a while, he played like his life depended on it, claiming 5 games in a row to secure a deciding set. Then he sort of faded out, Djokovic was all clutch and sealed the deal. Great match, right winner - but I felt sorry for Roger. The match had that special grandour to it. In the end, it felt career ending, in a grand but sad way for Federer. He was denied his 8th Championship, and Djokovic became #1 in that same moment. A real transition, and so much emotion under the surface of the two seemingly perfect gentlemen that day.

1) Agassi vs Federer 05 US Open

My all time favorite player against my new favorite player. Would have been a great note for Agassi to end his career on.

2) Federer vs Nadal 09 Australian Open

This was an epic match, but I felt sorry for Roger losing to his nemesis (this time on a neutral surface) after melting down in the final set. Then the tears...

3) Roddick vs Federer 09 Wimbledon

Roddick was never my favorite player, but I was rooting for him to win that match (he was so close).

Wimbledon 2007 final because he lost to my distant 2nd favourite player. If Nadal isn't winning, always good to see good old Roger win.

Wimbledon Final 2008. It's a bummer that he lost, but to this day it is the most exciting match I have ever watched. The greatest match of the last decade in my opinion in terms of drama, shotmaking, and clashing of play styles.
