What's your favorite (non tennis) brand to wear when playing

I stopped buying the big name brands last year, too many crazy patterns and colors. I'm wearing Ten Thousand shorts and Hylete t shirts now. Also have some Lulu shorts but I guess now they are considered a big name as they have released a tennis line.

H&M denim shorts, USPA collard shirt, some random Chinese collard shirt from Amazon, "Every Child Matters" shirt, Li-Ning collard shirt, two Bangladeshi-made no-name shorts, and a super old plain maroon Reebok t-shirt.

Don't give a **** about brands. Except shoes. With shoes I suddenly need the absolute top shelf stuff.

I sweat a lot and need quick-drying fabrics. I also want clothes that don’t shrink or fade after washing them many times. Plus, they need to fit me well without being baggy and look stylish. It is hard enough to find tennis brands that make clothes that fit all those parameters and I am not going to go looking for other brands. I like Lacoste and Fila the best and Babolat seems OK too. Ellesse is fine, but I have to find bigger sizes.

Technically not a tennis brand, but gymshark shorts are great and can fit 3 balls in each pocket which is more than enough.

Ten Thousand, their interval shorts are lightweight, durable, and come in a multitude of colors and their Versatile tee is the perfect weight, material, and fit and also come in a multitude of colors. Honestly, the best price to quality ratio for workout clothes I have found.

It's still on the cool side here. I'm still wearing a lot of Old Navy's Dynamic Fleece wear. Either the joggers for pants or a zip-up sweater to warmup with. They've been 40-50% off lately too.

I'm like you in that I need the sweat-wicking fabric, and really like the Travis Mathew crews. I know TW sells them as 'Tennis Apparel', but really they are golf & leisure apparel.

But...I wait until they are on clearance & there's a 20-25% off clearance sale. I've gotten some really nice items for under $25, and they last for years.

As a Vet, Hylete has a huge military following. They're honestly some of the best shirts I've ever worn, especially for the price. I have only tried the Tri-Blend and they're amazing.

I didn’t know about the military following. Must’ve happened long after I got out….26 years ago, so from one veteran to another, welcome.

I’ve got a few Tri-Blend T-shirts, wearing one as I type this.

Do you wear any collard greens?

I wasn't sure about Ten Thousand....there's too many men's clothing startups that seem to put more budget into instagram marketing than their product. but if people here like them maybe I'll give them a try when they go on sale

I like the feel of their material, but I only have bad experiences with their shirts. Doesn't matter if it's a t-shirt, long sleeve, whatever....the collar always breaks down and loses shape when still fairly new and looks like a 5 year old shirt. I do have a pair of shorts from them that I like.

They're the real deal, they have a huge military following (as you can see from some of their gear tested and helped designed by military members). Their durability is hands down the best and I've owned all major top brands and also Lululemon and Rhone which are twice the price. They continue to put out new colors and pieces, which tend to sell out pretty quick. Their customer service is also top notch from what I have read, I've emailed them about little things and questions and they always got back to me extremely fast. If you want CORE pieces, I think it's pretty hard to beat Ten Thousand, but if you're looking for more out there stuff you won't get that there lol.

I’ve tried all 4 of them: Interval, Foundation, Session, and Tactical. I definitely prefer the Interval shorts, they’re very lightweight and held up very well. The best ones for tennis in my opinion!

Their descriptions are spot on, Foundations are thicker and not as stretchy and made for more rugged stuff (hiking, barbell, etc…), Session is strictly for running and no pocket, Tactical short is I’d say a mix of Foundation and Interval and is great for swimming as well (no pockets either I believe)

I will give them a try. Will try one pair of Foundation two Interval. It has been a very long time since I found any shorts really worth buying.

If you don’t like them they have an amazing customer service team. I’ve easily returned items I didn’t like.

I like Land's End products. I do not like all the micro fabric products that is out there now. They are too hot to wear indoors and especially outdoors. To me it feels like I am wearing a plastic bag. I look for more cotton products to wear.

A few weeks ago I bought one of the Vuori "strato tech" t shirts and I love it so much I just bought another one, these are great shirt to play in or just to lounge around. They also just released a women's clothing line for tennis.

Took a look but couldn't find any leopard print ones to match my underwear so sadly I will have to pass. :(

Looks like On is making a big push into tennis apparel now with Iga and Ben signing on. I got some Vuori Kore shorts a few weeks ago but I think the Ten Thousand are still my favorite.

Tactical has zipper pockets and the liner has a phone pocket. I wear a mix of tactical and interval shorts for tennis. And, wear my tactical pretty much every day during the summer months as casual shorts. Great athleisure and functional to boot.
