Why the crying over a match that was essentially a blowout? It's not like Djokovic held MP's or came anywhere close to winning the match. Andy won it 6-3, 6-4 with little drama. All credit to Andy for busting his ass to end 2016 as YE #1. The only other player in the OE who worked as hard to do it was Sampras and that was only one year.

I thought so too especially as Djokovic had cruised through his matches dropping only 1 set (in his opening match against Thiem) . Murray had to draw on every ounce of remaining energy. His guts and determination to see it through to the finish got him there.

Why in hades did Novak suddenly stop playing well at Wimbledon 2016 after being the BOAT for a year and why did he continue to play poorly for the rest of that year? I don’t think his elbow was the reason yet for his drop in form. These kind of unexplained slumps are going to cost him the GOAT title that he would deserve if he finishes close to Nadal in Slams.

Ma'am that really was a display of how difficult it is for non big3 players to break into and maintain top3 rankings.
Especially the world no1 spot, which we see all 3 of the guys capturing it year after another, efficiently and effortlessly (or so we think), but for a player not on their level, it could cost him his entire career.

I was excited about that for sure but I think I was more relieved that he had broken his Slam duck whereas winning Wimbledon the first time was just pure ecstacy given that, following Henman and Rusedski's failed attempts, I never expected to see a British winner there in my lifetime.
