Type in Federer and old in search bars and you'll get endless results however no one seems to be able to come to a conclusion of when Roger Federer, the Swiss Maestro, actually became a geriatric centenarian

1981 - oldest man to come out of the womb

1998 - old man turns pro

2008 - old man can't see in the dark at Wimbledon

2010 - old man starts losing to guys not named Rafa Parera at chelems

2011 - old man reaches the dreaded age of 30 and his streak of winning GS ends

2013 - first year in a decade old man doesn't reach a GS finals

2016 - old man has to miss 6 months

After 2019 - now he's old enough to apply for health coverage required for all geriatrics

has little clue that between Connors-Borg time and the dawn of inflation era (2016), very few slams were won by players above 30.

Roger Federer, currently ranked at No. 1 in the world, certainly had his run as tennis' greatest player in the world. Though he's ranked as the best right now, it's tough to see it all ending.

No, he's not retiring. He's simply getting old.

In a way, tennis and dogs share some similarities. I'm not saying this to put tennis down whatsoever, I'm simply saying that both dogs and tennis are similar with how age is handled.

For instance, Federer is currently a 31-year old playing tennis at the highest level possible.

That's equivalent to about a 57-year old in tennis years.

Nowadays, a guy like Zverev is described as "still has plenty of time to win a slam", despite being 25.

In the 90s if you didn't win one by that age, you started to panic.

Muster finally won his slam at the age of 27, and it felt like last moment, similarly to Costa. Not to mention Korda, Gomez and Ivanisevic, these guys were ecstatic to finally get one at 30 and probably didn't even hope to win another one. Most of the other slams were snatched up by teens and 20-somethings, with Agassi being the major exception... Or perhaps Agassi was a sign of things to come, a pioneer?

Stan wins his 1st slam at age 28 then actually wins two more, because his so-called "prime" wasn't anywhere near 20-25.

How convenient that you stopped at 2016, deciding to pretend 17-18 never happened. When he vultured in a Novak-free Zone.

How is it "convenient"? I compared the last 7 years of the 2000s, and the first 7 years of the 2010s to show that Federer was past-prime in the 2010s, and was more on the level of Murray and Wawrinka.

But in regards to 2017-2018, I'll accept your claim that Federer "vultured". Even in a "Novak-free zone", and with Murray and Wawrinka later suffering injuries, neither a 1st nor 2nd generation mug could take advantage. Instead, Federer and Nadal vultured and won 6 consecutive slams. Of course, Nole returned to the zone to share the vulturing with Nadal and they've won 13 of 15 slams (would be 15 of 16 slams if 2020 WB hadn't been cancelled and the USO DQ didn't happen).
