Should Novak's 7th Wimbledon title count as slam no 21 in the Slam Race?

A slam is a slam is a slam.

Many of the world's top players won't be there either due to policy or injury, but Wimbledon is still Wimbledon. If he manages to win 7 bo5 matches in a row then it's deserved

Some reason I didn't get an answer to this? Wonder why... Guess that the players are absent because of injury and nothing to do with the ban on the two nations. Guess Underrated can't admit it.

Let's be CLEAR. Wimbledon 2022 counts as a VALID slam regardless of points or missing participation etc.

If Novak wins, he will have 21 slams OFFICIALLY.

If someone else wins it, they will have WON a Wimbledon slam. Nothing that the TTW posters say, or create threads on, will change this IRREFUTABLE fact.

Who? Is Otte a top 10 seed I haven't heard of? Is he a seed overall? Most of the players you mentioned are absent due to their own injury but you lied and acted like it was due to the ban. Next time, don't do that and instead be honest.
 
Is there any chance of Wimbledon lifting their ban and ATP reinstating points for the event, or are both off the table?

Otte is the third favourite, right behind Novak and Shapo.

Well that’s probably because you don’t read Nadal News or listen to all his interviews and aren’t up to speed with what exactly has been and will be done and why. If you had, you wouldn’t have to imagine :)

No he didn’t. They wasn’t what I was referring to. I was responding to your statements of fact that the only way he was playing Wimbledon was by continuing to inject his foot and your imaginings about why he hadn’t had this procedure before. You were specuplating. That’s all I meant.

Love these unbiased polls that showcase such love for tennis as sport and do not show any favouritism/hate to any single player... Simple "Yes" option would have sufficed...

Yes 100% the tournament is bigger than any player. It’s a shame politics has influenced it. But life in general is unpredictable it is what it is.
 
A slam is a slam regardless if it awards points or not.
I really don't know who could pose a challenge to Novak at Wimbledon.
Novak winning Wimbledon is a virtual lock.

Medvedev banned.
Rublev banned.

No points.

But strawberries and royals are still there, so I guess it's still a "slam"...

Well in the begining i thought it wouldnt turn out to be as bad as this but it turned out to be like ATP 250 level in the end .First Russians then covid withdrawals and then Rafa retirement.
 
Not Novak’s fault Russians were banned or there was a covid outbreak. Funnily enough the unvaccinated one turned out to be alright. lol
