I don't have any reason to believe a redistribution is in the works. At least nothing like the couple of big ones that have occurred in the past couple years. There can still be local adjustments if the USTA sees fit though.@schmke do you have any inkling that a redistribution might happen? Reason I ask is because of the ratings distributions per section, as TR has shown here : TRecords
For men’s ratings, most sections have about an equal amount of 3.5s and 4.0s with about half that amount of 4.5s. In Southern, we have over 11,000 3.5s, 8,400 4.0s, and then 2,800 4.5s.
Are we just eating too much BBQ and fried foods to normalize those numbers with the rest of the nation?
Wait, that counts for ratings this year?????In Norcal there is 18-45 singles league that it is my understanding will count for ratings, although that wasn't a final decision. Last year they had the same league and it didn't count but that was apparently an oversight that should have been corrected for this year. Last date for matches in that league is 11/24.
I'm going based on a conversation I had with DeDee last year at sectionals for the event. She said that they would count for ratings this year, but no official specific word.Wait, that counts for ratings this year?????
Fffff.... Well, there goes my rating....
Oh well, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t getting bumped up anyway, and even with how badly I’m playing in that league I’m pretty sure I’m not going to get bumped down anyway, so i guess it doesn’t matter...
This page at least says it counts: https://www.usta.com/en/home/play/a...northerncalifornia/18-to-39-adult-league.htmlI'm going based on a conversation I had with DeDee last year at sectionals for the event. She said that they would count for ratings this year, but no official specific word.
I’m hoping my 2 matches for 18-45 league make up for my 3 bad singles losses in 18+ lol.I'm going based on a conversation I had with DeDee last year at sectionals for the event. She said that they would count for ratings this year, but no official specific word.
That all points to a bump.I can't wait to see what happens with my 4.0 rating. I went 2-6 at 4.5 with 3 of those losses coming to three sets and to high 4.5 players. The only 4.0 league match I played I won 6-2, 6-0.
They’ll be published. Then the website will crash due to load and the ratings won’t be available for another few days because nothing will load.So are these ratings generally published at 12:01 am or won’t show up until late tomorrow evening?
Lol, yea I think last year I saw them around 4 pm. Curious as to what the TennisRecord over/under is in comparison with USTA NTRP.They’ll be published. Then the website will crash due to load and the ratings won’t be available for another few days because nothing will load.
Don’t count on getting them on release day. There’s no rush.
You do not get an email telling you that your rating has or has not changed. You may, however, get an email from your section or district telling you the ratings have been published. This usually comes in my district a day or two after the publish. You can either do as OnTheLine suggested on the app or simply search your name on Find a Rating on TennisLink. If you see 12/31/2019 rating next to your rating, you will know its your new rating.I’m on the cusp of being bumped so I’m very curious to see what happens with the new ratings.
Do we get an email? Or is it necessary to login to your USTA account to see if your rating has changed? This is my first full year of league tennis so I don’t know how the new ratings are communicated.
BTW, if you have an Android phone don't waste your time looking for the USTA app. They only offer an app for iPhone users.Easiest way is to use the mobile app .... pull up your name ... hit the little "i" button and if the rating shows with 2019 after it then you know it is the new rating
Why do predictions by Tennis Record matter? Do you also read tea leaves?I remember last year Tennis Record had "bump probability" and they don't have it up at least not for my region. Anyone else see this? (I'm not going to be bumped but curious for some others who are on the bubble what TR will say vs what actually happens.)
Everything has updated...I did get the nod as well to 4.5. You had me dialed in this year.Appear to be published. Midnight ET, so 12/2 on the dot.
@J011yroger got bumped outta the ranking system. tennislink is actually printing out dolla bills to himAny bump ups to 5.5?
yet they just cut out a line in the 40's 4.5+ leagueThis is similar to 2009 when there were massive bump-ups. Looks like they're trying to increase participation in the 4.5 leagues.
I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish by doing this; they are so disconnected from the average league player.yet they just cut out a line in the 40's 4.5+ league
They are out and Southern Section took a big hit on the chin.
Arkansas had a ton of bump ups at the 4.0-5.0 level, have not seen that many in one year and there are a couple of very questionable ones at that, player as a self-rate goes 0/3 at 4.5 40's and got a 5.0, never won more than 4 games in a set.
3 in AR league got bumped to 5.5 as 5.0's from 2019Any bump ups to 5.5?
You are right about the Southern Section, at least Georgia any way. Tons of bumps... Lots of bumps to 5.0They are out and Southern Section took a big hit on the chin.

Central Little Rock 4.0 League: 36 bumps to 4.5 out of 92 players, one already appealed down, so standing at 34 now. over 33% bump
