When should Venus retire?

I was wondering when Venus Williams should retire. She's 26 now and I think she should retire by the age of 28. Venus is like a big sister to Andy Roddick. Andy gets a lot of motivation from Venus. If Venus retires, Andy will get a big moral blow for sure, but... anyway, when do you think Venus should retire?

Venus should retire when the game becomes too physically taxing for her and she starts to move onto other prospects. Oh wait...

Women can't play tennis as long as men. Men can play after they are married, but women have to bear children, you know what I mean???

LOL nice post guys.

venus can stay for a while.

although we should make serene retire, maybe make JHH pull another hand incident.

There is not much you can say after two quality posts from pirateofthecarribean. Excuse me while I go find a wall to bang my head on.

Feels as tho i have walked into another universe...another time zone...what was with the original post...Venus and Andy?!!?

Maybe this is all a bad dream and i will awaken from it

Well, Venus and Andy are both fellow Americans. They are part of Team America.

Right after her 2005 Wimbledon victory.

Wow, this thread is so random and weird. So lemme add to it: Venis should get some of Roddick's *v*enis and conceive their child and bring him/her/it up to become a tennis star. This way she'll be still working on the tennis career, just in a different manner.

I thought both Williams sisters retired already? They hardly play at all!

Well, there is always a negative attitude towards them, even though they have achieved more than many can dream of and made America proud. They are still on tour and have been having a bad time with injuries.

Is that a joke?

No he is pretty serious. I just hope they include them in the Happy Meals for my kids.

Denny's is also changing their grandslam breakfast to a Serena Slam breakfast. You get double the bacon and sausage.

She should retire when McDonald's comes out with the McVenus Burger next month.

rotfl, god i need that laugh so much. It's one of those things that I sware you could see McDonalds do, but at the same time know they wouldn't.

definitely one of the funniest things I've seen, and I sware even the name sounds legite making it even funnier. Can't you just see Venus swinging the racquet going, be like me, have a McVenus Burger, lmao

When Venus approaches Mars and the planets collapse.
:D

I wonder why these older WTA players don't transition to doubles? Is it the tradeoff of playing doubles isn't worth the travel expenses/downsides?

I wonder the same and not just for WTA. If as a player they are set financially and enjoy the travel and the competition I would think that it would be a great way to stay connected to the sport. Look what Martina did. She had fun, she competed, and she played for as long as she wanted.

There is really no point to retiring. Achieves nothing....

Venus should have retired 5 years, or so, ago.

From a competitive tennis perspective point, she has been irrelevant for several years now. To me, in that sense, she is retired.

Having said that, if she is still happy playing, then keep playing and stay happy. Why the heck not, if you are being realistic with yourself about it.
