When this guy is at his 80%, he cleans everyone off the court

In WTF it was a very good win. However, at the masters it wasn't impressive. He won their match in Rome 2016 only to bring a terrible performance in RG final a few weeks later. Djokovic always ends up winning the matches that really matter.

Always? Don't recall him winning 2012 US Open or 2013 Wimbledon or the match that decided whether he should keep his #1 ranking. Those matches mattered.

Fact is that other than Federer and Nadal, Murray has been by far the most successful player against Djokovic besting him in no less than 8 big title matches: 2 Slams, 1 WTF and 5 Masters.

What is this 50%-80% or whatever? How do you calculate the percentage? It looks like an excuse so every time Djokovic loses, his fans can put the excuse that "he was not at his best".

Djokovic loses to Nadal in the US Open 2010 final: "he was not at his best".

Djokovic loses to Federer in the Wimbledon 2012 semifinal: "he was not at his best".

Djokovic loses to Nadal in the US Open 2013 final: "he was not at his best".

Djokovic loses to Nadal in Rome 2019: "Djokovic was not at his best".

Djokovic almost lost to 37-year old Federer in the Wimbledon 2019 final: "Djokovic was subpar and not at his best".

With the "he was not at his best" excuse, almost every time Djokovic loses to Fedal is not valid. But if Djokovic defeats Fedal, they must be "at their best". This is how the "Djokovic has the highest level" legend was born.

Also, Nadal still leads the H2H over Djokovic 9-6 in Slams (including 2-1 at the US Open). So it is false that Djokovic doesn't have any problem with Nadal, as Wilander said.
That's because people want to forget Federer hasn't been at his best since 2007. It's easier to say a 38 year old professional tennis player is in the prime of his career than admit men 6 and 7 years younger than him are playing the budget version.

If true, he breaks the world record in missed opportunity...more so considering he faced a lost generation, a yet-to-breakout next generation, a past-prime Federer, and a past-peak Nadal.
The opposite - he got prime Fedal to fight with, and he can't beat them all the time because he is not 80 or 100% all the time. Fedal also didn't diminish like normal players in their years would, they had the same pace of regressing as Novak. And finally there are draws, Novak gets most difficult ones from big3.

Sorry Djokovic fans, seems to be a wrong time for this thread. Still world #1 though with 300 ranking points ahead of Nadal. Will keep the #1 ranking until the end of Paris Masters.

This thread is evergreen. I didnt make it for sakes of Shanghai nor for end of year No.1 position. I made it since we all know tennis careers are much longer than 1 or several tournaments in a row.

LOL!

Yeah, that's a complete lie. Djokovic is a brilliant player, but there are several guys who can beat him at even 100%.

Best performance was the USO 2008 QF vs Nadal. USO 12 was not the best match but Murray played well and was on fire in the wind in the last set.
Rafa was out of puff by the USO 2008 having won or made the final of every tournament he'd played all year and winning Olympic Singles Gold. He went straight into the USO after the olympics and Murray had gone out in the 1st round at the Olympics that year.

I dont know. At UO2019 I had an opinion that he is covering up his elbow with shoulder injury, but I am not that sure of that anymore.
If he said a he had shoulder injury why don't you believe him? What would he gain by saying he had shoulder instead of elbow injury? He recovered from the elbow injury after the 'medical procedure' he said he had over a year ago.

Simple, if its elbow its staying with him, if shoulder it can be cured.
