With how fast the U.S Open courts play this might be a tougher one for Rafa to get then Wimbledon. I still think he can someday maybe though. When do you think Rafa will win the U.S Open, if ever.

I think thats the one slam he wont win if the conditions stay the same.I think he needs to start winning other slams now.I am waiting to see if he makes a run at the AO but he hasnt yet and they are changing their surface as well.

I also think that is the one he might not win since the stupid U.S Open organizers make the courts too damn fast to favor boring servers like Roddick. I hope I am wrong though. Wimbledon is too slow for what it should be, and the U.S Open too fast.

when are they changing their surface? 08 or 09? later?

Nadal's summer results will be crucial to his chances I think. He is very much a confidence-type player.

I think of all the slams this is the hardest for Nadal to win, but still with his incredible talent and determination he still might do it. His chances at each slam are the French, Wimbledon, Australian, U.S Open in that order for now probably.

its funny to see that someone is saying that the U.S. Open courts are too fast,it must be a Nadal fan, but i see he has no problem with the slow red clay courts......tennis is made to be played on different surfaces with different bounces and speeds, its up to the players to adapt to the different styles of games each court presents. just like Nadal loves to topspin those heavy forehands on clay he will have to get used to the ball flying back at him on the hardcourt.

Berdych,Youzny,Blake,Gonzalez,Soderling.....way to much big hitters. These players are going to make sure that Nadal never wins USO.

Dang, the odds are against him winning it according to the poll.

But I think he will win it sometime in the next few years, stranger things have happened. Or maybe this year he will pull it out…

He's won the FO for the last 3 years, been #2 for the last 2 years and steadily closing the gap on #1, reached the Wimbledon for the last 2 years, and had a great chance to win it this year. How much more confidence does Nadal need?

All depends on his confidence. It also depends on his draw. If he gets too many big hitters like Blake, Gonzo, Berdych then i'm afraid it will be 'good night and thanks for coming'.

Maybe.....

As Mr. T said, it really depends on his draw. If he gets a really easy draw like he did at Wimbly last year and his body holds up, he has a chance.

However, there are a lot of big hard hitting HC players out there in his way. My biggest concern is in his health, as he has already aggravated his knee tendonitis and foot injury at Wimbly on the softest surface there is.

He has also reduced his hard court warmups to 2 tourneys before the USO, with 3 others on clay to reduce the stress. This does not look good to me for hard court practice and confidence. Still, you never know.
