I am interested in how long people stay at this forum. I always like when see in someones profile that he is here since long time ago...
People often leave forum, someone is banned, someone make new account, someone was reading some time before joining (me)... For some members it's impossible to see data considering join time and last activity date...

So, let's count us...

My question is in the poll...

Myself, I started following (reading at first) this forum at 2007, possibly in 2008, and joined 2012...

@Colpo
He started first thread in this section at 23 Feb 2004, last seen here in 2019...

@Shaolin
Started 2nd thread. His posting data is protected but I am sure he is still active... (y)

Following since 2015
Joined in 2018.

And about tennis, I've been following it almost immediately after my birth I'd say

Hi, my name is James and I am a recovering tennis addict. I started lurking around this forum in 2012 when Nadal was off the ATP tour for some months with a knee injury.

Tennis was boring without him. But there was nothing much I could do to change that. So, I accepted the things I could not change and found the courage to change the things I could by joining this forum in 2013.

I can’t imagine lurking for 10 years without ever feeling the need to post anything myself.
Well when I first got here I was kind of intimidated because I felt like I didn't know anything compared to how in depth some of the conversations were. I knew who the top players in the sport were but that was pretty much it. I didn't want to sound like an idiot so I just stuck to lurking and it became habit.

Also keep in mind that I wasn't here constantly. I would go months and sometimes years without checking in.

I was here about 4 years just reading. I loved being here. In one moment I decided to join, but we're inactive. I was new user till about one year ago, because I posted rarely....

I lurked around the thread between 2009-2012, I just didn’t have an account. I started following mainly because I was really wanting to hear some opinions on the player’s styles and of course just how the pros are doing.

It wouldn't have been long before I joined the place. I typed tennis forum into the search and surprise surprise, a sureshs gif came up in the images lol. Must have thought this is interesting. Then I joined.

Stumbled upon this forum for the first time in 2007
Made a number of visits between 2007 and 2009 just to get some interesting insights from users and to keep up with views from the tennis world whilst finishing higher education. Something other than just highlights and match reports. A proper "community" that had the same sporting interests as me to an extent.
Disappeared for a while due to work - then re-discovered the forum in 2012
Created 1st account in 2012 but forgot password after summer break some time in early 2014
Re-joined with this account in mid-2014 and have been active since - though not as active now as maybe 1-2 years ago

No lurker phase for me.
Joined almost two years ago, and except for a month or two when I abstained from posting or reading (for sanity, to get more work done, and to test my resolve), I've checked in most days.

I guess that's not a problem now. Just say why you either love or hate one of the Big 3 and why you think he should or should not be the true GOAT. Everyone will just start fighting among themselves.

PS: @beard don't want to be that guy but I don't think this belongs in the GPPD

Joined in 2017. Never really posted a lot, still don’t. But I like reading this forum and hearing other people’s opinions on tennis related matters.

I started frequenting this forum back in 2010 after i completely ran out of patience with those folks over at MTF.
My first impression of this place back then was, "wow this is legit tennis talk, so many quality threads".
Nowadays i have to sift through several pages of trash before running into a semi-decent tennis-related thread. How sad.

It's not nice to complain about thread quality... How many quality threads/any threads you started? ;)

Joined in 2005, banned in 2008, rejoined in 2011, banned in 2014, rejoined in 2017, still not banned yet in 2020, but I'm sure it's coming.

Just kidding

I think i've started 5 or so threads in the time i've been here, so that makes at least 5 quality threads by my count. :p
How you know it's quality threads?

I was very enthusiastic about each of my threads, though it's top quality threads, just to get complains it's **** threads... And those words came from Fed fans, fans whose appreciation I desire the most... I was so disappointed each time

Well, after 55 posters gave their vote, we can conclude distribution considering our forum age is great (29%, 27%, 24%, 20%)...

It's great!!!
Good distribution is always desirable and welcomed, and very important, right?
