Where are my Barricades ?

The adidas Barricades are just perfect for me, these shoes fit my feet like they've been custom made for me. I've had more than a dozen of pairs over the years, always the same size, always perfect.

I just went on TW and was shocked... No Barricades. What happened and how am I going to survive this?

This happened a long time ago, the line discontinued in end of 2018, I’m sad cause I only got 1 pair, the 2018. Great shoe, but never got a second pair. And then the solecourt came out. RIP.

Thank you. This is terrible news.

Can anyone comment on the new models' fit compared to the barricades? I don't really care about durability, weight and other such things, I'm just looking for a pair of shoes that are so perfect for my feet that i can wear them almost 24/7 :)

Are you talking about the solecourt boost/stycon?

Also check out the ASICS gel resolution 8, it’s pretty similar to the barricades in terms of durability and stability in my opinion.

Yea, I suppose. Stycons are just too ugly, I'm not interested in those. What are the adidas sponsored pros wearing nowadays?
Either the UberSonics or the solecourt boost. Interestingly Thiem uses the exact some solecourt boost except its bounce cushioning. Even Tsitsipas wasn’t wearing the Stycon after it came out. The solecourt boost compared to the barricade is worse, it weighs more and feels pretty clunky. It also gets much wider than the barricade in the forefoot after its broken in. The durability is good, but my biggest problem is there is a seam in the inside of the shoe where if I don’t wear a thick sock or two socks, I get a blister.

Sounds awful. I'll try to find a last pair of my trusty Barricades somewhere on the interwebs. I'm not just ready to move on :) Thanks for your input.

No problem. I’d at least try the solecourt though, because most haven’t had the problem I had. But it doesn’t have the outsole warranty of the barricade, nor the forefoot cushioning. In fact, it doesn’t have any forefoot cushioning!

Check out the K-Swiss Ultrashot 2. They are very supportive, more so even than the Asics Gel Resolutions. They fit somewhat wider than the Barricades but that shouldn't be a problem unless you have narrow feet.

They are resting from Barricade in '19 and '20 to come out with fresh new Barricades in 21. Hopefully its going to be great.
I hope you are right and they bring back the outsole warranty, I’d probably buy a pair.

Well, The Ubersonics 3 was a solid try but their insoles were not good. They brought back (wimbledon, US Open) the UB 2s and I must admit they are fantastic. And then you have the solecourt... some people love them some people hate them. But yeah aparently they wanted to retire the beast the barricades were and come back stronger than ever. Im all for Adidas in tennis so I'll give them some trust...
Also the stycon boa seems to be mostly working but the stycon without boa is a solid try by the brand to do something different. Laceless is very hard to pull off.
I wouldnt count too much on the sole warranty though since every brand is going for softer soles.
Cheers!
