Where do you guys meet people that you hit with?

All the people that I hit with were people on my high school tennis team and at my local tennis courts, but none of them really play a lot when it's not tennis season. I want to meet more people that play so i can play just about everyday.

Any suggestions?

Do you have USTA in your area. Join a league and meet people.

Or join a club or just stop by the club and start talking to dudes.

Yea as far as the leagues I can't really join a lot until I get another car; Right now i'm only playing a local league, but I do plan on getting a USTA membership soon.
isnt ALTA down there? thats huge. or are you not close enough.

start your own chapter man!

I shall do that

about 4 years ago, i had no hitting partner, so i took a wooden racquet to the park close to home to hit against the wall. while i was there, this one lady asked me if i would like to rally with her. about 15 minutes later, i wished i had brought a modern racquet because she was really good. she became my primary hitting partner ever since.

Now you're married with two kids and compete in Mixed Doubles at your local club....Maybe in another universe?

I met most of my hitting partners through Craigslist and a couple on TT. When I go play and see someone I don't know hitting near my level, I go and introduce myself and get their name & number if they are interested in hitting.

I now have a couple networks of 20+ players that I can get together as a group or as individuals to practice, play, etc. It is surprising how many people are looking for competitive play but don't want to join a league or club and are still 3.5+ players. I usually send out weekly emails as invites to the players and can have anywhere from 4-10 players show up on any given night. If I want to play a particular individual, I text. This past winter, I had two guys willing to play as long as there wasn't snow on the courts. We played w/ gloves, hats, etc.

I'm in south Paulding County. Do you know what level you are, or are you too young for adult leagues?

There's plenty of playing opportunities here, but you will need a car to broaden your search area. Join ALTA and USTA teams and play in flex leagues as a way to meet tennis people. If you are friendly on the court, then you'll quickly build up a list of players that you can email and hit with outside of league play.

There's a bulletin board at Lost Mountain Tennis Center that often has people looking for hitting partners if you can't go the leagues route yet.

I'm 18, and man I honestly don't even know what lvl I am; my friend said I might be a 3.5, but honestly I he wasn't really sure.

How about you?

and I live in powder springs, you live near by?

Craigslist first then we went to facebook and started a group site. Now we're filling 6 courts with doubles matches every Saturday morning.

I know this is a bump, but where do you guys go to find good coaches, and how do you find out if a coach is worth it or not?

You need to join a tennis club. This is kind of like when a band asks how to get a manager or meet a record label. The answer is always to go out and play, then play more. The information will start coming to you.
