If you add it to a vibration node (just below the middle of the head or at the top of the hand on the grip) the frequency will change very little, if at all. If you add it near the tip or the middle of the racquet, vibration will decrease more.

Question:
Will adding weight at the butt reduce vibration more than adding to tip or throat?

i already have this...

Use Babolat Racket Vibration System (RVS) instead.

I am more concerned about racket vibration, not string vibration.

thanks for recommending RVS. i already have this and stopped using it. #64 rubber band is more effective for me.

i guess i will try putting lead on the tip and then on the butt and then on the throat one at a time and determine racket frame vibration reduction if any.

What kind of vibration are you referencing?
Do you mean a jarring vibration, or a 'flutter'? I found, for example, the Wilson KBlade to flutter a bit while volleying. A bit of lead at 10 and 2 causes this flutter to disappear.
If you mean a jarring vibration, I generally find handle weight and throat weight to help here. But the best thing to do, if the racquet has a jarring vibration, is to switch racquets :)

Babolat RVS is very effective at reducing frame vibration.

Just make sure you push it down against the throat to make it effective.

It is the same vibration that i get when using wood racket when i hit off-center. You see, wood rackets are very flexible (less than 50 flex) but they are very solid when you hit the sweetspot, which is very small.

I am using a graphite racket with 58 stiffness and when i hit off center, it vibrates maybe "flutter" is a more appropriate word.

the best solution to prevent racket frame vibration is to hit the sweetspot all the time but this is easier said than done. my ss hit rate is about 75%. maybe i will just keep practicing...
