Of their 4 matches at Wimbledon, where would you rank the 2019 semifinal between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal?

Although it wasn't a final, in some ways it had a lot more drama than their first match in 2006. By this time they read each other's plays like a book, and there were adjustments on both sides in an attempt to surprise the other one. Lots of sharp exchanges in the final two games of the fourth set.

not great...Rafa did not play up to his potential
To be fair he wasnt that great im the 2018 semi either.. he had been in better form for some time than nole and yet got very nervous at key moments. The roof didnt help but rafa kind of blew a great chance to tie mcenroe and becker.

I was favoring Rafa in the matchup, but his game did not show up, while Fed was sublime.

Yes he dealt with an in form kygrios well in the event but just wasnt totally locked in. But at least he took advantage of federer and nole not being at their best to snag another us open.

Nadal was better in 4 of the 5 sets, really. Nadal had a slow start in the match and was outplayed in set 1, but after that Nadal generally played the better tennis. He paid the price for not taking set points in the third set, and not taking break points deep in the fifth set.

Indeed, i mean he did not make the most of his chances. He probably also had been so out of practice going deep at wimbledon too. Nole had won the title a few years prior. Nadals last final was 7 years ago so it was almost like making the final for the first time, as his game was quite different from before.. less about pure athleticism and retrieving

Yes, and Nadal never did make it back to a Wimbledon final after 2011, despite reaching semi finals in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
