Where is Ríos now?

I said his serve is a talent and a way more useful one than any stand-alone talent Rios had. Ivo is incredibly weak in other very relevant aspects of the game like movement and backhand therefore he couldn’t reach number one. But in the serve department he is extremely talented, yet nobody praises him for that.
That's all he was praised for.

Is there any reliable source on that or is this anywhere proven? Maybe he didn’t start to play it regularly or full-time before 11, but I would doubt that he never had a racquet in his hands until then. About Stich it is also said that he only started playing tennis as his number one sport at 15, but he had played tennis nevertheless since he was 5/6.
shelton started at 12. source: his dad.
he messed around and swung a racquet
im sure but he didnt take it seriously till then supposedly.

Miloslav Mecir never even had a coach while he was on tour, yet he could make all the best players look silly at some point.
Yep.
Wilander used to complain that he hated playing Mecir, because Mecir would go off fishing on the morning of a match while Mats was practicing, practicing, practicing.

Then Mecir would come back, cool as a cucumber, and beat him easily.

Marcelo Rios was one of the most talented players of all time, but also one of the most mysterious. We didn’t know much about him and we definitely never knew what went on in his head. After a short career, he seems to have settled back into retirement as a bodybuilder. Does anyone have any other information on this?

thanks for article

Unlike you I saw him play in person several times. The tale about his GOAT level talent is among the most beloved and persistent myths in tennis.
Not sure what you are saying: he did not possess tennis talent level = Nole, Rocket, Gorgo, Tilden and a few others?

Okay, agreed.

Or are you saying his talent/potential level not = consensus ATGs like Becker, Borotra, Agassi, Connors?

Can't agree.
