Where to buy tennis shoes?

As title states. If i dont buy my shoes online (dont have time, and dont like shipping), where are other good options to buy them. Keep in mind there are no tennis shops near me. Would a shoe store (famous footwear ect) work or an athletic place (SA, Dick's ect) I heard in another thread that tj maxx sold nice tennis shoes for a really good price (small selection though)?

Anyway, where do u think would be the best place to buy tennis shoes?

Why would buying online take more time than buying from a store? Shouldn't buying shoes with a few clicks of the mouse be a lot faster than than getting dressed, getting into your car, driving to the store, looking for parking, looking around the store for shoes, waiting to get help from the clerks to find your size from the backroom, trying on lots of pairs, waiting in line to checkout and pay, and then driving back to your house? I'd say all of that would take you a couple of hours versus a couple of minutes to buy online.

BTW, just about the only stores that I've seen that sells real tennis shoes are tennis specific stores or pro shops. Most sporting goods stores, athletic shoe stores (e.g., Foot Locker, etc.), and big shoe stores (e.g., Payless Shoes, etc.) do not sell real tennis shoes from my experience. And I shop at TJ Maxx all the time and I have never seen real tennis shoes sold there, either.

Sport Chalet that I work at has some, but they're overpriced. $120 for Barricade IVs that we just got in stock? Please, they're a bit late.

Nordstroms and Macy's will usually have one of the Nikes out. I know Nordstroms currently has the BF3 and Macy's had the Zoom Vapor 3, I think- maybe also BF3. (might I add at good prices when you catch it during 1-day sales or during anniversarry sale... nordstroms anniversarry = 75-80 for BF3) Anyways, that is why Nordstroms Rack ocassionally gets TENNIS shoes because of the trickle down from the main Nordstroms. ;) Also, not all Nordstroms or Macy's will carry it, probably the bigger store in your area will/might. They have them online though. :D

I've never seen any TENNIS shoes at like Gart sports or sports authority... tired looking once or twice, after that I just gave up.

yea, i dont have a nordstorm nearby, anyway, i coulnd't find any at either of the stores so decided to buy online, a different website (starts with an h ends with a bird has decent deals on lots of old shoes (new condition). I'm thinking of getting the Adidas Tirand 2, Wilson Challenger, Fila Open or Adidas Clima boom (All under 60 dollars)

Buying online seems fine with me. Sure you have to pay shipping, but you don't have to pay tax so it is a wash. Online has everything available somewhere. It is so much less hassle than driving somewhere I can't imagine why you think it is somehow more time consuming and besides there are great prices online if you search.

TJ maxx- all the ones I have been to have not any good tennis shoes only usually cheapo shoes that are not good for tennis. I am really surprised that somebody said the got some NB 820s there. I am not saying it isn't true just very surprised.

If you want brick and mortar, the best places I have been to are adidas/Nike outlets. Some pro shops will have sales, but usually most of their stuff is overpriced and the selection is not that great.

Unless you live in the same State in which the online retailer is located, like in California when you buy from TW. Then you have to pay both the 7.25% sales tax (SLO rate) AND the shipping cost. :(

with the deals you can get on the clearance shoes from TW why would you go anywhere else? surely there is something below $60 in the liquidation section - i could go there now and find at least 5 pairs that i could live with.

Last pair I bought was from an online vendor in Balto. I made sure first it is the brand/model I've used/tried in the past before I placed the order.

Used to find shoes at Marshalls, never at TJ Maxx. Outlets like Adidas, Nike, and Reebok stink, have nothing and are over 75 miles away. Last time at the Nike Outlet, only had a rack of a hundred Air Oscillate clay court shoes for $29.95 and who wants that shoe?

if you were deceptive and sneaky you could have passed them off as hard court oscillate's and made a pretty penny - but you would have to be a real sheister to pull that one.

Had that light grey herringbone sole, fit was deep in the shoe, low to the ground. Nothing like my Bata Bullets
