Which 2025 T-Fight should I try? 300/305/315

Choose the heaviest you can play with...... Remember, we can always add weight to a racquet and there are no practical ways to reduce it.

If you play flat and like the control, 305s is your frame (add a leather and 1 - 2 grams at 12 and you'll have an amazing pro stock frame). If you want to have more spin / higher launch angle on your shots, go with the 315 or 300s. Since you like heavier frames, I would then test the 315 first. I can't give any advice on the 100 in^2 versions as I haven't tried them and I won't because I'm a OHBHer.

How does the 315 feel compared to the Pro Staff 90 and RF97? I'm looking for a new racquet that gives me all the feel, spin variety, and forehand racquet head speed and confidence of the PS90 combined with some of the confidence on the backhand and plowthrough of the RF97. I know I can't get all of these things, particularly feel related, but I'm really interested in knowing how the 315 stacks up by comparison.

The PS90s (excluding the 2014 version) and the RF97 were amazing frames. I understand very well what you are missing. I wish Wilson would have released an RF97 at 320 instead of a quasi EZone-replica... Unfortunately, the T-Fight 315 is another animal: the beam is much thicker and the weight distribution is different to any RF frames. Also the string spacing is different. I would just go with a PS97 and customize it to your specs.

Can you go into some of the details on how differently the 315 plays? I was thinking with a leather grip + overgrip and 2-3 grams of lead at 12 o clock it would get close to my preferred playing spec of 8-9 HL and 330-335 SW. There's no question it would be quite a bit lighter than my nearly 13 ounce racquets, but the added weight should take it pretty close to 12 ounces. As far as how it plays, I have no point of comparison other than there was one review on the ISO 315 from a guy who used to play with the PS90 and he said the ISO 315 gave him similar performance albeit with less connected feel.

Whats your age, play style and level?
I'd say too many people want to play with the 305s or maybe even the 315s but in reality they would probably play the most competitive with the 300s with some lead here and there. I've been using the iso 300 leaded, play on clay and I'm probably a 4.5 level? (can go the distance against a D2 Texas player but can't beat him).
For myself I was debating between the 300s and 305s but decided on the 300s. I'm receiving the 305s on demo tomorrow though.

Yes, you can easily customize it this way! The launch angle was too high for me. I hadn't my RF97 2015 in the same bag for a one-to-one comparison, but I can't recall such loopy balls with the RF97. The 315 is also more powerful and whippier, that's for sure. The guy you know is right: nothing to do with the PS90 in terms of feel. So, at these specs (could be mine) it is too powerful (I would go a few kgs higher in tension), too loopy, and lagging control & feedback. Try the Artengo TR960 Control Tour: I have the 18x20 and 16x19 customized at nearly your specs. The closest frame you can get to the PS90 and particularly RF97. I still play with these from time to time and am then still asking myself why did I move away from them... Probably because of the low power.

Personally I would say it’s not a matter of ability, it’s a matter of playing style and preference (although perhaps the 315 is on the heavier side).

I have a 300S and 305S to compare at the moment. The difference is as described - the 300S has more spin potential and is more sensitive to launch angle, and has a bit more pop. Nothing too extreme though - I couldn’t get on with the eZone or Pure Aero for those reasons, and the 300S isn’t as wild as those - it’s predictable for depth and spin. The 305S trades those features for control. I did find it lacked spin, but thinner strings helped. Both are lovely rackets.

There’s also quite a difference in feel - the 305S feels softer and more solid. The sound is different between them too - something I find normally matches feel. Both are excellent forgiving rackets, moreso than my Blade 100, which has noticeably less power and a smaller sweet spot.

Weight is highly personal, as what you’re doing is imparting momentum on the ball, which you can do with weight and a slow swing, or less weight and a faster swing. My 300S and 305S actually weigh the same by the way (quality control).

Ah. Fair enough. It does depend where the mass is. A ring on your finger might weigh more than 15g, and if the weight’s in the handle it’s only like that.
