I hardly see any public courts in Houston. Most are school district courts, barely anything like I see in Chicago. Which areas have more tennis courts and players ? Is energy corridor, westchase any good ?
Anyone wants to hit ? I'll be travelling between Houston and Chicago.

Memorial Park Tennis Courts are nice. Other than that most school courts are good.

"Tennis 4 All Houston" facebook group might find you some players. Going to the school courts on Sundays might also help find you someone at your quality of play.

Like everywhere people overrate their play by 0.5 NTRP atleast - the easiest way for me to find players there was posting a hitting video on the group and asking for players... That way hopefully would stay away from people who are not at your level and may even net a few players above your level who are fine with hitting.

Ya I played at memorial the other day. It also needs reservations and fees. I'm surprised that a big city like Houston , where tennis can be played year around, doesn't have public park district courts

I live in the N/NW side in Spring. In my area most HOAs have tennis courts for their neighborhoods. A little further north in the Woodlands there are public parks with courts all over the place. They are free but you can also go online and pay to reserve them At some of the parks. Meaning if someone has reserved the courts they can kick you off. Im not sure how it is in other parts of town,

There are lots of courts sprinkled about, but you need to know where to look. If you're in town, in addition to Memorial Park, Homer Ford park east of downtown has a lot of courts and a solid tennis scene, with easier court availability than Memorial (but the courts aren't as nice). There are some other parks in EDO that I know of that have one or two courts (like Emancipation Park). West U has a few city parks that are hiding some tennis courts, as does the Heights (Woodland Park, Halbart Park, Proctor Park, etc.). Houston is such an odd city, though, that you need to do some looking to find them. You might want to get on Google maps, find your area, and do a search for "tennis." The suburbs have lots of courts as well, sometimes in parks and sometimes as part of subdivisions that have restricted access. Aside from Memorial and Homer Ford, I think a lot of the tennis scene goes to the private clubs.
