Which country are you from

I'm from England. I grew up in New Zealand. I currently live in England, but I would rather live in New Zealand.

I've always been intrigued by NZ. It looks like a mystical place. Can you tell me about the Scots there? How's the economy?

Don't know anything about cricket, I know an Indian who loves it more than tennis. So give me some insight into NZ.

I'm sure someone will be along to correct me, but my observations are:

After native Kiwi's I believe that ex-pats make up the next demographic. Followed by a large Asian contingent. My folks for instance (English and Scot) have at least 6 ex-pat couples as there immediate neighbours. They live in Orewa, North Auckland.

The lifestyle is good: social, easy going, active (outdoor) style. The infamous Kiwi ingenuity is apparent everywhere, i.e. a strong "give it a go" attitude to most things.

Financially I'm can't really comment as I have never worked there, or lived as an adult (I left when I was 16), however typically the wages are a little lower than the norm. Consumer goods are average to slightly above average. however, that is balanced out against cheaper housing, amenities, food etc.

I have had conversations with my stepdad (Scot) who says the economy runs between 3 and 6 months behind the rest of the world...

It's certainly a beautiful part of the world that is worth a visit.

How's that?
