For me, I can fire my 2HBs like lasers (b/c I am a natural righty who plays lefty) but I wish my forehand was a bit stronger. But I always choose to run around the backhand to hit my forehand to work on it more (not to mention it looks better and I don‘t want to expose that weakness as a dead giveaway).

How about you?

My backhand is pretty weak, so I take every opportunity I get to practice it. In my room in front of a mirror, when feeding the ball, running around my forehand to hit it, drilling it. However, in game, I always run around my backhand to get to my forehand. For now, it's what I have to do to win.

My backhand just has power. It doesn't go in very much. The slice does though, and is probably my best shot since I can hit it consistently, too.

On the other hand, my forehand isn't as powerful, but more solid. I can deal with most balls better, but I can't attack as much.

It's kind of strange, but when my backhand is on I run around forehands to hit it. And sometimes, or all the time, when I want to approach or know the opponent has problems I'll run around my forehand to hit the slice.

And when my backhand is off, I'll attempt to run around every single one to hit the forehand. It just depends on how I'm doing or what I want to do.

My forehand is a weapon, and my backhand is becoming one, too. Right now my bh is just very reliable and solid, but in the last few months I'm starting to pass guys more frequently on either side. What a feeling THAT is!

My forehand is my stronger side but for every comment I get about my forehand I get 5 about my slice backhand. I guess most people float up their slice backhands because they usually talk about how it doesn't bounce, and how it looks like it's going into the net most of the time. If I can see in warmups that my opponent is having problems with my slice, I pretty much feel like there's no way I'm losing. I guess it's really the foundation of my game.

I can rip the **** out of my forehand (w/ fairly good accuracy). My backhand is decent (one hander) but still need to work on being able to hit slice w/ more pace on it. I can hit 1HBH's w/ topspin all day though.

Forehand is my stronger side but not by much. My backhand is almost up there with my forehand.

I have a lot of variety and can pack power when I need to but my greatest weapon is variety and handling other peoples power. I can generate my own pace, but also can use pace to my advantage. And this is more obvious on my forehand side than backhand side.

My back hand cannot be overpowered on serves/groundies. Good angle, down the line, overhead, volley. Love cross court bh rallies. Good slice, change ups, power, topspin lob and drop angles. Love it when someone sticks to formulaic bh attacks. When someone relies on kick serves to the ad side, I just hit winners down the line off high balls, just as you would with your forehand if they hit that same kicker to the deuce side. (Start high just as on the fh.) If they start covering, I go the other way with it cross court. When I knock them back off serve volleying, I start coming in on their first serve.

My 2-handed backhand is not as fast as my forehand, but it's way more consistent and I can create evil angles with it.

My forehand has deteriorated significantly lately due to changing of the racquet and moving my grip to SW. It used to be a weapon.

My backhand is powerful but has suffered from some elasticity loss in my knees. For this reason, more often than not my BH top spin ends up in the net. If it wasn't for a dead feel in my legs, my BH would actually be much more dangerous than my FH!

Yes, I'm working on getting my strokes back in order... :(

My forehand is very solid and I wish my backhand was as good for my level of play as my 2hbh just seems to feel awkward when compared to my f/h. I don't avoid my b/h deliberately (in fact I look to hit it MORE sometimes as this is the only way to improve!), but am quite happy to go inside-out when I can.

The first time I ran around my forehand my coach was dumbfounded. He didn't know anybody would actually do that.

My backhand is more solid, but I win more points with my forehand. But I'd much rather rally off my backhand side.

My forehand is definitly my weapon however I dont have problem hitting rallie balls with my handhand. but if someone hits a very aggressive shot to my backhand, it could break down.

My response is...

I would not quit playing until I scare off my opponent off the court. LOL.... I am just saying...

Well, I am quite a gentle player. I need to work on my speed for sure. My height is my weakness point of the matches... Sigh...

Image that I play tennis while ice-skating.... well, no more angle surgery again.....

my forehand is much better but it looks pretty ugly. my backhand is not as effective as my forehand but it looks much better :-?

I chose "backhand but my forehand can hold its own"

I'm stuck in a weird place with my groundstrokes where my 1HBH is the stronger of the two in regards to pace, spin, and ending a point.

I can hit some really heavy balls off the backhand side and if I'm in a good position with open court, I can end the point off that side outright. The backhand won't break down either regardless of the incoming pace, height, or depth.

My forehand is better for placement, and rallying though. I can move the ball around easier but I just can't seem to generate as much pace to end points outright from the FH side or force a short ball.

beyond the baseline both my wings are equal.
inside the baseline, i'm like Bacterio.

My forehand is way stronger, hit harder, is more prone to errors, and I don't favor it in serious matches.
My backhand is much more consistent, I can keep it lower and with better angles, but I hit it softer so everyone plays it.....giving me more practice to make it more consistent.

When I play someone with lots of power my backhand because it absorbed pace very well but doesn't generate very good but my backhand slice is my most consistent shot. My forehand is great all around it is Way better when generating pace but slightly worse at absorbing pace because of my longer swing but it's still effective. Overall id say forehand

Seems to me that, whenever I want to crush a waist-high ball, I do this better using my 1hbh with moderate top spin; but if a ball ever lands in my mid court or just inside the baseline on my forehand side and it jumps up to shoulder height, I really have a hard time not launching myself into the ball, straightening my legs, and trying to crush it because of how good the feeling is of blasting forehands at that height.

But as for which side is my stronger, it's hard to say because, I feel like there are those rare days when my forehand is cudgeling opponents to death, but on other days when my backhand is "locked in," it is clearly much stronger than my opponent's such that he nervously avoids it.

What keeps me motivated is the fact that I haven't ever been able to weave together all of the different pieces of my game into a cohesive statement yet.

There have been days when all I was serving all day long were napalm ropes. Days when I've hit 70mph forehand winners from my backcourt repeatedly. Days when my transition game was like flowing water, and there was no place--no matter how deep--on my side of the court from which I couldn't kill an overhead putaway.

But never a day when everything came together as one. This is the day that I am working towards realizing, and once I get there, the quest will become to remain there.

I am a bit similiar to Deshaun I think albeit likely a lower level. My backhand is a better shot if given a nice ball. That is not too high and something that I have time to set up for. If I get a ball like that I feel I can really lay into it - and smack something nice to the opponents backhand that he simply cannot handle.

OTOH if pressured it kinda sucks. High balls and low balls - or balls that I don't have time to set up on cause alot of errors off the backhand side for me..

My forehand is not great - but its far better at dealing with crap. High balls don't really bother me much (though I might hit a lob back to be safe sometimes) low balls I feel I can dig out. But the good smackable balls - I don't seem to be able to crush them reliably..

My forehand can dictate the points easily every time. My backhand is rather weak, and can easily give in to a large amount of pace and/or spin. I take every opportunity to run around the backhand if I'm not tired. I don't think I've ever hit more than ten winners off of my backhand in the (competition, not practice) matches I've played.

I regularly hit winners off the bh on open players. They don't believe I can hit dtl so I keep doing it, over and over again, right next to the line. I can change direction on the bh and turn over my hip rotation very fast. I coil like Henin did, or Guga, or Almagro.

My backhand ( 2hand ) mainly topspins, rarely hits past service line...... BUT my 1H backhand just plows through the ball.
