Which machine?

Tennis Warehouse uses several crank machines (in Georgia and California) and they string over a lot of rackets.
I was shocked to hear they strung on on LO machines. Then again, a few of my players ordered their racquets form and the knots weren't exactly clean either. Maybe I shouldn't have been surprised.

Haha. Nobody will be in the room . Just I noticed on videos the wise tension head sounds like it's straining in pain. I don't want that
I've got the most recent WISE head and it doesn't strained or loud at all.

IME a tiny bit of lube on the screw will quiet a WISE down a bit. The motor noise is what it is.

Mine is a model 12 (they didn't make a 13, my favorite number, sadly.....). I had a slight "grinding" type noise
occasionally on release, never when tensioning. Tiny lube job stopped that.

Sure you can hear it, i've heard quieter machines. For 6-8k it should sound like a Tesla. It's a feckin stringing machine.

Let me give you a DW to eCP comparison. If you were putting a roof on a house would you rather use a hammer or a nail gun. Yes the nail gun will break before the hammer but in the long run the time you save is tremendous.
That's a good analogy however I may need to use the hammer until I can afford the nail gun and am I building a roof or just part of a roof at this stage?

What relevance has that picture got to anything?

Hi @Irvin I read a post where you said you did a string job on a DW in 32 minutes. That's pretty ok if I could do that.
I could bet I was using a poly string. With poly on a DW it does not take long to get into a rhythm. Once you see how far you need to lift the arm it’s pretty much the same distance every time. With the weight arm down turn the drum until you feel the string tighten then lift the weight just above level. If you go too far it’s difficult to get the string out of the jaws. Also I probably used flying clamps (Pro Stringer Claws) which are easier to use than the supplied plastic ones. The part that may hold you up is weaving poly. Pull weave one ahead. So far the easiest poly string I’ve strung is ISOSPEED Baseline Control.

@Irvin I strung my first racquet today:) Had a bit of trouble with the knots and I still don't know how to know which are the skipped holes by eyeballing it. Need a guide.

Knots are pretty simple and so are skipped holes most of the time. Knots just take some practice that’s all. i‘ve got a few rackets to string this morning. I’ll make a video for you.

Ok thanks . Would be cool to see. My instructor advised Parnell knots for everything.

I would agree for every except starting knots. But many stringer do not like using starting knots. There are times though when some stringers do not use a Parnell knot like when they have limited space.

i see a lot of comments on speed of stringing. Until you learn to weave crosses and tie knots quick, you won't pick up that huge of a % of time savings by the actual tension system. I went with a Klipper that included every tool needed and shipped for just $250. I strung for a handful of friends a handful of times and have already made back at least $100 or so in cash. the other 150 i've easily saved on my own string jobs. So even if you do decide you want to spend more for something better, it's hardly a loss starting with either a used DW or a KM DW.

If you live in the US/Canada or Europe, odds are very good there will be dealers and repair facilities to fix any electronics in a machine. I am unsure if there are such places in Australia. You would not want to ship a deadweight back to Asia to have anything repaired. Not saying that a machine will fail, but that the potential risks are not worth it unless there is a local/same continent repair facility. Which is why I would go with purely mechanical. If you want a eCP, check with the vendore about who would do repairs, if needed.

I'm thinking of Spinfire because of this issue. I believe it is an Australian company. What do you think of the spinfire furnace?

They look like clones of what Gamma or Alpha would offer. Probably all from the same Chinese maker. I assume you are talking about the Spinfire Inferno?

You are in hi-end eCP territory. Description is very like Alpha Ghost2 or Wilson Baiardo. Could be from Xspider. It is a lot of machine and you need to have a lot of frames to justify getting one. Either that, or you have $$AUD. So have you found out who would do their repairs? If Spinfire has a facility in Oz, then that is an issue you can check off.

The Spinfire Furnace looks a lot like Alpha Ghost. Could be the same Alpha Ghost, but rebranded for Australian market:

Great point. They look alike. I've been told by a tournament stringer the spinfire is made in Taiwan. Whether that's right or not I don't know. I'll contact spinfire and get back to you.

Yes it would stretch the budget however it's a lot cheaper than the Head they have.

Oh yeah. Sorry bro. My instructor said your machine is excellent ( and he didn't like a lot of other ones) . Only problem is they are not available

Wow, the Gamma Progresson II ELS machine is out of stock in Gamma website. There is one machine available at the UK auction site.... only one machine left. I wonder why they don't restock it? Maybe Taiwan stops producing it?

Gamma Europe website mentions that the machine will be available from 22.11.2021

Certainly looks the same to me...and depending on how many cold beers, the color prob gets a little more tolerable on the eye.
Hahaha. Yes it's the same. How are the Braves going? I follow the Roosters. They had an unbeatable injury toll this season but still made the playoffs.
