Which major event trophy looks the best?

Okay, let's talk about our personal opinions on which singles trophy of the 4 Grand Slams looks the best. You can also mention the men's and the women's singles trophies separately. I'll start off. I think the US Open single's trophy (the only major trophy that is the same for both men's and women's winner) is the best looking, since my favorite color is silver.

Given 9 of the 15 posts have been about the Stanley cup, and another 2 or 3 telling people not to post about the Stanley cup, it seems to me the topic at this point is the Stanley cup. :mrgreen:

For the record, I'd never seen the Stanley cup, and I think it is far more impressive than any of the GS Trophies.

Not only have I seen the Stanley Cup, but I've actually touched it!

Back in '98, the Portland WinterHawks won the WHL and the Memorial Cup (which is a pretty sweet looking trophy also). While they were on their championship run, they had the Stanley Cup on display at one of the playoff games. My friend (a Canadian) was so excited, he had to have his picture taken with it. I waited in line with him and I did a reach around on the trophy while they were taking the picture of us with the hardware.

As far as the tennis trophy debate goes, I like the Wimbledon trophy, followed by the US, the French, and then the Australian. However, if were able to win any of them, I would be very happy.

US Open and Wimbledon have old-fashioned-look trophies

I personaly, don't like the old fashion amphora-with-a-lid-type of look on the US Open and Wimbledon men's trophies. And especially the women's one, which is an engraved metal plate... looks like they stole it from the tournament's catoring-service, where they used it to put the salad on the shiny metal plates.

I love this Nalbandian stylish, modern-ceramic-looking trophy from Estoril (which isn't a major).

The question was asked which Trophy was more appealing and I read some remarks that suggested anyone participating in this Thread was Gay. I thought that was funny because like someone said, it's a legitimate question imo.

Very much the same as asking which surface you like best or what tournament you like best or which female Player you think is hotter.

I'm not Gay however if I were would have no problem saying so, therefore because the reference to this Thread being unsuitable to some, I will throw my opinion in the mix ...
