Canas smashes a racket! 2nd set tiebreak. Canas won the first and was leading in the 2nd... had match point... but Monaco came back to a tiebreak. 5-1 Monaco in the tiebreak.

Well Ferrer stepped up and won the 2nd. I predict he will put the clamps on, but that's no newborn he's dealing with.

Oh, darn it, i was hoping that Mr. lee would pull this one out, now he is tied with Ferrer.

Monaco seemed to be on fire... but now after the argument with the umpire and the cold mountain breeze -- he's chilled out... and giving the match to Canas.

wow 4-4 in the third of Ferrer vs Lee. what a battle. closest match by far of the tournament. didn't Ferrer go down 2 breaks in the 2nd set?

This could have been the best match of the year. Mr. Lee wins in 3 sets over Ferrer. Mr. Lee has been reborn, he will be in top 10 soon. Talk about the magic of KimChee.

I am a year removed by the way.

Little children ?? I finished undergrad College by the time i was 20 years old. If that is what you mean, i won't take this as a insult.:???:

I finished High School at 15 and grad school at 22, what's your point? :-?

Same. Canas is arguing with the umpire right now but I missed what it was over and can't understand what he is saying as it is in his native tongue.

It's called "spanish" :)
He was complaining about a shot from Monaco that was called out by the lineman and overruled by the chair umpire. He said that he stopped running for the ball because of the wrong call, and that, otherwise, he could had retrieved it, so, he claimed, the point should'd been played again. The chair umpire ruled that Monaco's shot was a winner and gave him the point. I've never seen Cañas so furious.

That is a great win for the Korean. I have tons of respect for these vets that find ways to win. Lee is the Korean version of Vince Spadea.

James Blake was impressive against Moya. The backhand return down the line has become a real weapon. I think James might have one of hes best years yet, he no longer loses to unknowns. Blakes having a solid yr soo far, just the titles that evade him.

Nishikori ?????

Believe me, I didn't. This was much worse. He yelled at the poor Carlos Benavidez (I know him to be a good umpire and a better person) "Vos qué hablás si no sabes jugar al tennis", and all sorts of profanity. He was out of control, crashed a racquet, and was really rude to the chair umpire and a lineman. The funny thing is that, in a match with a lot of questionable calls, most of them were against Mónaco. I think Cañas created some tension over the linemen, who were just afraid to call against him. So, every dubious ball was called for Willy. Mónaco ended the match frustrated and almost crying ! ! !

Yh its deadly. He hits it from some distance behind the baseline. Probably one of the fittest guys on the tour, he runs like a gazelle .

Is there any way us, lowly non-pros, be able to learn this shot ? maybe we should ask yellow fuzzy ball ?? Canas looks like he is almost late getting to the forehand and yet he hits it big crosscourt, it is a devastating shot.

they should be half an hour into their match by now, whats going on

i think Nalbandian is enjoying the local Indian wells cuisine little too much. He is losing big time, 4-1 to stepanek. He probably filled up last night with fillet mignon and spaggetti with meatballs.:)

nalbandian always starts slow, him broken even twice does not mean anything, he is like dementieva (spl) of men's tennis. so he woke up at the right time to take a first set.

Fed won his first 14 points on serve before Mahut finally "won" one. That was actually a double fault from Fed which is what I mean by "won".

Fed's level is quite high, but Mahut is no stiff test. He looks 11 years old. Oh and BTW, Justin Gimelstob's commentary is super awkward. He needs to get use to the business I guess.

Poor Mahut. Federer is breaking his serve like King Kong breaks toothpicks. Roger will easily make his first final of the year if he keeps this level of play up. Not sure Murray will be able to put a dent in his game at this rate.

Yet another Djokovic-Federer match in the making? I'd like to see another 1-2 final (haven't had one of those in a long while it seems), but Nadal has to really pull it up to get past Tsonga.
