Hewitt is playing consistant again, but he really lacks power with his old racket. may get away with this against Youzny but against Roger, it may not work

6-5 Hewitt leads....currently serving

just passed Youzhny with nice cross court shot big C,mon

^
Lacks power?
remember he's not a big guy

Hewitt seems to be mixing it up *slightly* more on his topspin backhand now

Hewitt breaks Youzhny and leads 1-0 2nd set

Hewitt is making more unforced errors in this match (soo far) then he did against Querry, hence he is not playing as agressive. Nevertherless he has taken the 1st set against a player ranked near the top 10. Great to see the former world no 1's Hewitt and Ferrero getting back to their best form. Soo much for them being has-beens as many have labelled them on these boards.

I really think Hewitt should bring out both rackets and try one in the 1st set and try the 2nd one in the 2nd set. and see what happens.

I return to find that SuperMario succumbed to the relentless efforts of the Mosquito. Sad, but that is one of the best things about IW and Miami being back-to-back. It is only a matter of days before your favorites return.

Now for lopey, Mopey Murray.

I actually think Federer likes medium fast to slow hard courts. Wimbledon grass courts are now not exactly the fastest courts. He likes lower bounces but not necessarily quick courts, I think.

In the grand scheme of thing, speed differences in current tour is relatively less of factor compared to past.
All surface speeds are converging to middle and all top players are doing much better on all surfaces compared to past.
Well the night matches tend to be heavier. The surface isn't any slower but the conditions take some of the power. Maybe that is what Federer likes about night matches. Lower and heavier like Hamburg was.

Even at a set apeice in Murray-Karlovic's match. What's the likelihood that the last set will also end in a tie-break?
Maybe I talked too soon. Murray's up a break now.

Haas also took the first set in a tie-break over Verdasco.

Anyone know what happened in the Haas Verdasco match. The Live Scores shows nothing, nor does competed matches on the PLO site.

I know its not important in the grand scheme of things but still ...

Haas won 6-1 in the third. Reload the scoreboard, it's still there.

11 pm and matches still going on on Stadium 1. There must be about 8 people there.

Thanks Fee.

btw, are you at the stadium with an internet connection ?

"there" means you have it coming on telly ? I can see Bartoli slugging it out with LD on the live scoreboard.

No, I'm home now (since late last night). I was just guessing about the number of people still watching Lindsay's match, because it's late and probably very cold.

Roger 3-0 in the second. I don't know why Ljubicic even bother to show up for the match. Should have stayed at home to blow the candles on his birthday cake.

LOL didn't know it's his birthday.Ivan was a good player, but his time has passed.

Yeah,I remember when he played great in Miami 2006 and had that final with Federer that went three tiebreaks. He also owned Nalbandian in 2006,I think he beat him two or three times that year.

Yeah bad memories for me actually:(... he send david packing 4 times that year...damn bald guy

Such poor linejudges in the Federer-Ljubicic match. There were like 3 challenges in a game and the players were right every time

I am quite surprised that Djokovic did not get more votes than he has currently.

He is in quite good form and playing very well.

After Ljubicic lost, hehe

no one's as generous as that lolz
I just saw a delayed telecast of the Fed match, didn't know it was Ivan's b'day.
Fed could have given Ljub a bagel as a gift --- j/k.
That lapse after 3-0 is quite concerning. I was remembering Tsonga's lapse at that point.

Anyone going to watch the Finals ???

Edit: Will Miami be similar? Fed wins just enough to defend his points and maintain #1. Then goes down easily to some really low-seed, rather than Djoko/Nalby etc.
