Roddick's girlfriend is looking hot!

decker.jpg

I think she is kind of Ugly actually. she is not hot at all. Maria Sharapova blows her away like Titanic.

It's funny how in the early rounds, with Djokovic, Nabandian, Gasquet, Murray, Ferrer, Tsonga, etc, going down, it was looking like a tournament that would produce an unlikely finalist but with Roddick's victory, it is the first time since 1987 in Miami that six of the Top 10 seeds have reached the quarterfinals and only the third time (1986) in the tournament's 24-year history.

There were two posters that picked Davydenko to pick this tournament and I like the guy, but even I didn't pick him.

Credit to whoever chose him, nevertheless to get to the finals.

How the heck would this be a spoiler in the "Pro Match Results" section? :-?

Hmm. Good question... You see, I posted in this thread a couple of days ago to discuss a particular match, which started my automatic subscription to it. I guess I didn't realize I would be getting match results from subsequent matches after that. So I had not yet watched the Roddick-Davydenko match by the time of your post.

Oh, my bad.

Sorry if I spoiled it for you anyway. :)

Actually I didn't click on the email when I saw it come in, precisely because I was worried about the results being revealed, so no harm done to me. I was just concerned about others who might not have watched it yet. And of course, I had forgotten this thread was in the match results section in the first place, so it's more my fault than yours.

There was a user, I think ____Andreev who was looking to an all russian final (Davyd vs Andreev) (or a russian in both mens and womens).

I wish Nikolai all the best.

Djokovic is laughing his head that neither Federer nor Nadal was able to win Miami when he got kicked out early.

Novak isn't too thrilled he lost almost 500 points. Meanwhile, Federer gained points while Nadal held his points. It's really a 2-man race for #1 unless Djoker does well on clay.

Which I'm sure he will. He was a semi finalist at FO remember.

Well 98.12 % of us were wrong here :)

Edit: LOL at people who now vote for Davydenko.

So Davy wins. Who woulda thunk it? I guess maybe his bookies threatened to do something to him if he didn't pay up or win. The check's in the mail boys. Just joking. :-)

Ahhh! Sorry, didn't know the poll was still open.
All I read is this: Voters: 214. You have already voted on this poll

Who the heck leaves a poll open for two weeks! :?

Stunned..........

I am going to say this and probably get hammered by Rafa fans, but after watching the final Rafa has been figured out on HC. Rafa has been doing a little better on HC but still playing the clay court style because he is a clay court specialist. Attack the forehand and drive cross court to the backhand; works every time. Ferrer did it at the USO last year; Blake used to do it but makes too many UEs

Watch the match and you will see Rafa consistently playing 15-20ft(4.5-6.1m) behind the baseline and Davy playing inside or on the baseline. Rafa stated that he didn't play 100% but that was because Davy didn't let him play 100%. Davy dictated that match from start to finish which stunned me. He held and defended the baseline position much better than Rafa.

Now I know that Rafa usually plays behind the baseline but on HC and Grass he has to play closer to the baseline as he did against Blake or Berdych. Davy never let Rafa even get close to the baseline much and when Rafa did get close to the baseline he overhit because he was used to ranging from 20ft(6.1m) behind the baseline.

More and more of the big hitters are going to figure this out and make the world a lot tougher for Rafa on all fast surfaces. With Rafa getting older and his game not changing all that much (a little improvement), Rafas only refuge will be clay courts. This result really shocked me

Totally agreed on your analysis (although a bit sad). First of all, I do not believe a pro can radically change his game - see how much Federer tries to S&V but if his baseline game doesn't hold up he's going nowhere. Nadal, on the other hand, has a problem on both the technicality (the loopy back swing to generate spin & power on forehand) and mentality (clay success doesn't require very aggressive games). I do see his conscious effort to move closer to the baseline, but you also see the confusion in his eyes when this doesn't work because he simply is not use to take the ball early and errors are gonna occur - once that happens, he unconsciously go back to far behind the baseline. This, I believe, is unlikely to change and will substantially limit his success outside clay. If you look closely, people get much more success exploiting his forehand on a hard court, because that often gets a weak reply to the center of the court due to the time he needs to set up that killer forehand. We probably will see more of that in the years to come, like the shots directly to Federer's backhand in recent matches.

Nadal's needs to change his racquet when he plays on harcourt. He should borrow Agassi's.
