The 2008 Roland Garros final was arguably one of the most one-sided Grand Slam finals of all time, with the runner-up being able to gain only 4 games against the champion. A total beatdown, indeed.
As for Novak Djokovic, I think we can all agree that his level of tennis reached its absolute peak in 2011 when he went 10-1 against Fedal, including the Wimbledon match where he comprehensively outplayed Nadal, who was the defending champion that year.
Many fans agree that Djokovic's peak ended in 2016, and after that, level-wise, he was never the same player he used to be. And of course, due to old age, his level was declining even further. This year, in 2023, he is 36 years old, and his level is incomparably lower than it was in 2011 when he was 24. It is without question that 2011 Djokovic would destroy 2023 Djokovic any day of the week on any surface.
But here, the question is, which match would be more easily won by the victor, the 2008 Roland Garros final match between Nadal and Federer, or a hypothetical match-up between 2011 and 2023 versions of Djokovic at Wimbledon?
