? Who said anything about banning?
He always made sure to lose earlier.
If you look at their matches, Nadal was making every single match when Djokovic was world number 3. They played 12 matches on hc by 2010 and Nadal lagged just 5-7. That's 12 matches in 4 years while both were not regularly making all finals.Sound like Rafa mentality? is Rafa going to try a 10th match (20th set) against Nole on HC?
Nole went 0-9 against Rafa in early years and still never back down.
Prime to prime:
6-0 in clay slams for rafa
3-2 in hc slams for Djokovic (being generous including 2019 AO)
Slam dunk. Lol at including bejjing and Doha Mickey Mouse wins vs 15-16 crapdal.
Nadal over Nole at slams.
11-7.
It’s more like 29-31 not 26 bud.
Prime to prime djokovic is 2-2 in hc slams vs nadal. Dont think anyone but forum nerds care about Beijing or atp cup micky mouse wins LOL
Still no good or even thoughtful arguments … @BorgTheGOAT
Looks like a thread to ignite fan wars but I'll give my view
Purely going by numbers, it's Djokovic thanks to his insane domination on HC the last decade but a point to note is majority of those matches were in Nadal's down period
After 2014, Nadal's physicality had a huge drop off the rendered him quite uncompetitive vs Djokovic on HC
I'll keep the timeframe of meaningful comparison as 2008-2014
2008 since that's the year Djokovic became a slam champion
The HC h2h in this period is 12-5 Djokovic
Slam h2h is 2-2 with Nadal giving peak Djokovic his toughest HC slam final ever
The CC h2h is 11-4 Nadal
Slam h2h is 4-0 Nadal
These overall numbers suggests that both dominated the other on their preferred surface similarly but Nadal was able to able to grab the 2 big slam wins
Keeping slam h2h in mind, I feel the matchup was more lopsided on a clay court when both where in their primes
P.S : Kudos to Djokovic though for maintaining his physicality with only a slight drop off but Nadal was just unable to do so (his fault or unlucky, idk) so I felt it would be an unfair comparison to include anything after 2014
Djokovic avoided Nadal in 2009, 2014 and 2017 so it’s not all one way.2010 wasn't prime Djokovic so it's either Djokovic leads 3-2 or he leads 2-1. But how can anyone overlook the context.... sooo many examples of Nadal chickening out and losing to mugs early before facing Djokovic, especially in AO (but not only).
Imagine if Djokodal played 10 matches on the Rod Laver Arena. That's the main difference, Djokovic hardly ever misses chances to meet Nadal in RG. They played 10 times there and 10 times in Rome.
When Nadal meets Djokovic 10 times in AO and 10 times in Bercy, we'll talk.
At the end of the day Djokovic proved over and over and over again he can beat and straight set Nadal EVERYWHERE including in his worst tournaments like Monaco. Nadal still has a lot of things to prove off clay. We are still waiting for his first AO, Miami, Cincinnati, Paris and Wimbledon wins against Djokovic. How long do we have to wait?
Please give your arguments then. I don't always agree with everything you say but they're always insightful.
nole won vs rafa in every major competition in the calendar where they met (they didn't play just in sangaj)!AO straight sets win
IW straight sets win
Miami straight sets demolition
MC 2 straight sets wins
Madrid straight sets win
Rome straight sets win
RG straight sets win
Wimbledon is only one till now where Djokovic couldn't straight set him
Rogers cup straight sets win
Cincinnati straight sets win
USopen another one where couldn't straight sets
Shanghai never met
Paris straight sets win
ATP finals straight sets win
If the sample size is larger, djokovic would have straight setted him in every big tournament.
| Tournament | No1e | Rafa |
|---|---|---|
| Australian Open | 2 | 0 |
| French Open | 2 | 8 |
| Wimbledon | 2 | 1 |
| US Open | 1 | 2 |
| Indian Wells Masters | 3 | 1 |
| Miami Open | 3 | 0 |
| Monte-Carlo Masters | 2 | 2 |
| Italian Open | 3 | 6 |
| German Open / Madrid Open | 1 | 3 |
| Canadian Open | 1 | 1 |
| Cincinnati Masters | 2 | 0 |
| Paris Masters | 1 | 0 |
| ATP Tour Finals | 3 | 2 |
Exactly blatant lie to remove Djokovic's wins post 2014 but taking nadal's wins pre 2011If you want to talk about prime, then
When both in Top2
Nole-Rafa HC 8-1
Rafa-Nole CC 5-3
nole won vs rafa in every major competition in the calendar where they met (they didn't play just in sangaj)!
Rafa never won vs nole at AO, Miami, Cincinnati and Paris.
means he is without victory in half of the HC slams, 60% of the HC masters where they met and half of the HC indoor big tournaments!
of the big tournaments on clay nole has no multiple victories, only at rafina house at the masters in madrid.
Tournament No1e Rafa Australian Open 2 0 French Open 2 8 Wimbledon 2 1 US Open 1 2 Indian Wells Masters 3 1 Miami Open 3 0 Monte-Carlo Masters 2 2 Italian Open 3 6 German Open / Madrid Open 1 3 Canadian Open 1 1 Cincinnati Masters 2 0 Paris Masters 1 0 ATP Tour Finals 3 2
Sets won for on HC 48 21 Djokovic or 70% sets won for Djokovic.
Sets won on Clay 50:29 Nadal or 63% by Nadal.
Even in sets won Djokovic is far closer. And many of his matches have at least been competitive.
Nadal has been almost not competitive in half of the matches vs Djokovic, maybe even more than half.
That's more than half. Its complete ownage.16 out of the 27 HC matches lost in straight sets.
Nadal leads at the US Open too.10 at FO alone, so if Rafa is a total mug outside of clay, the slam would be 8-2, lol
The baiting and trolling from Djokovic bots is completely out of control.
Nadal leads at the US Open too.
If you want to cherry pick. 6-4 to Nadal in matches in majors against Djokovic from the 2012 French Open onwards. Ownage? Nadal annoys the crazier Djokovic fans because he stood his ground against Djokovic very well indeed.
Nadal has beat Djokovic at Wimbledon, in the 2007 semi final.LOL So pointing out facts is baiting and trolling now? Then we are all trolls here. Every fan bases, every posters.
How is mentionning the Slam distrubution ''trolling''?
Numbers don't lie.
Clay is Nadal's favorite surface and Djokovic's worst.
Clay only represents 4/14 of the Majors. 28.6%
More than half of Djokodal's Slams/Masters matches were on clay.
Saying Nadal never defeated Djokovic in major tournaments like AO, Wimbledon, Miami, Cincinnati and Paris is trolling?
Wondering why they had to few matches in Djokovic's best tournaments (like AO and Paris) and so many matches in Nadal's favorite tournaments (20 in Rome/RG only) is trolling?
We are just highlighting facts here.
Why can't I just turn that around and mention the huge number of hardcourt matches, and the fact that Djokovic was 7-0 against 2015-2016 Nadal and that this gives him the edge in the overall 30-29 head-to-head? A lot of Djokovic fans hate that Nadal has stood his ground against Djokovic. And yet Djokovic still leads the overall H2H despite this huge amount of clay matches. Interesting.
Really? Even if true, Nadal still holds his ground against Djokovic. Imagine what a 100% Nadal does. This is why Nadal and Nadal fans get all this criticism from the fanatics of Djokovic.Nadal's down period lasted more than a decade now
Nadal winning the h2h at the us open, for many thw main hard court event renders the question a non issue. Slams are where players are judged ultimately with their h2hdsNole over Rafa on HC?
Rafa over Nole on clay?
Update:
overall:
Nole-Rafa HC 20-7
Rafa-Nole CC 20-8
When both in Top2
Nole-Rafa HC 8-1
Rafa-Nole CC 5-3
Nadal winning the h2h at the us open, for many thw main hard court event renders the question a non issue. Slams are where players are judged ultimately with their h2hds
I think to be honest having seen other social media sites there is clearly resentment and bitterness with djokovic fans that Nadal is seen as the greater player among neutrals. Ultimately Djokovic won most of his slams when federer and nadal, and indeed murray were off the tour more often than on it. That argument by nadal and federer fans has been run for a couple of years now since Djokovic fans invented the asterisked slam argument. Karma can be very unkind. It is a shame as i think Djokovic deserves far more respect and adulation than he gets ( the eurosport advert for the AO that has Nadal front and cenrptre and Djokovic nowhere on it is astonishing) but i think his fans have damaged his standing.Really? Even if true, Nadal still holds his ground against Djokovic. Imagine what a 100% Nadal does. This is why Nadal and Nadal fans get all this criticism from the fanatics of Djokovic.
When nadal set the slam record didnt he at the age of 35 have a draw that saw him hace to play 4 top 10 players? Are you saying that was rigged against Nadal?Yeah, slam draw rigging for Rafa, and against Nole.
4 of the 5 HC slam matches Nole had 5-set max wear down right before they meet, the only exception is AO19, and it was a beat down.

You see this in other sports especially soccer. Clubs who have a reputation for violent fans tend to get less credit than other teams for the same achievements.

Has Nadal had Karatsev Norrie and rookie ben shelton in a slam semi final? It is HC and grass Rafa needs help, badly.
Yeah bc Novak has more US Opens than Rafa lolIt is HC and grass Rafa needs help, badly.
Has Nadal had Karatsev Norrie and rookie ben shelton in a slam semi final?
You gonna sleep today? So create your OWN threads about 11-7
This is perfectly valid thread. Djokovic has now owned Nadal on hc. Way more than Nadal ever did Djokovic.
Since 2011, off clay. Any more cherry picking?Because we know what off clay looks like. Save your lies for someone clueless.

Wont surprise me if Nadal wins the Us Open this year. Just have a feeling he would love a record at 2 of the slams like Federer has.Yeah bc Novak has more US Opens than Rafa lol

11-7 is 1-2 broken down by surface. There you go.Since 2011, off clay. Any more cherry picking?
6-4 to Nadal in matches in majors since the 2012 French Open, and 11-7 to Nadal in all their careers in matches in the majors.
How about we discard hardcourt like you keep discarding clay? Only 10 non-hardcourt majors for Djokovic, and 16 for Nadal.
2024 TTW in a nutshellLiterally not one good argument made in 30 posts
Before 2011 off-HC:Because we know what off clay looks like. Save your lies for someone clueless.

Pre prime and excluding the main surface. Not as good. Before 2011 off-HC:
Nadal - Djokovic 11-0.
