On the mens side there are currently 7 guys who have won either 1 or 2 slams currently still playing:

2 Slams: Lleyton Hewitt, Marat Safin
1 Slam: Andy Roddick, Gaston Gaudio, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Thomas Johansson, Carlos Moya

Will any of the following ever win another slam title? Vote for the ones you think will, and if you think none just vote the bottom option.

this is a really good poll and a really good thread

gaudio and johansson are done, not even a contender

moya and ferrero will be contenders but i have to say they are done

roddick and hewitt, well we jus have to see how they play over the next 1 or 2 years. which will then determine if they can be like an agassi and still be in contention for the slams every year til they retire

safin is as unpredictable as anyone, but he is retiring in 2010 and i do not see him grabbing another one, but then again i can see him getting another one as well. so we jus gotta see

Right now, Roddick probably has the best chance of the ones mentioned. He's still young and there is a lot more he can improve on, which means that he may not have peaked yet.

I think Roddick deserves another major. Safin is overrated, Gaudio and Johansson have no chance, Moya is getting professional tennis old, and i think Hewitt may have a chance but you never know.

Roddick have the game to win another slam,he still young and have some time, he showed that he can make it to those slam finals.
Safin=no
Hewitt=no way,it's gonna be impossible for him.

Hewitt defnitely has another couple slams in him. People overlook how well he has played this year. He should have beaten Nadal in that Hamburg semi where he played incredible, and he got unlucky vs Djokovic at Wimbledon. At the Australian Open he was the only one to take a set off Gonzalez before the final, when Gonzalez was unbeatable for anyone not named Federer, but got unlucky to play him so early so got a result and points unreflective of his level of play, hurting his ranking more.

He is playing better then his ranking and results, but fortune have not been on his side. It will change.

Hewitt seems to get back to his form slowly. so he has a chance for sure.

Roddick needs to get lucky to win another Slam. He is getting better, but he just seems to always hit some barrier in a major. the reason is that he is not a complete player. If he meets someone who can exploit his weakness, he is done.

all the rest don't stand a chance.

I'm surprised that most of you write off Safin so easily. I think he can win another grand slam, potentially the US Open 2007.

I think if Safin puts in a little more focus on fitness and game, he can win a few more before he walks away from the game.

But that depends on if he wants it enough...

I'm really surprised people are still actually voting for Safin. Hasn't he shone enough times he just isn't mentally tough enough?

I think people still feel (myself included) that safin's capable of at least ONE gonzalez-like run at a grand slam. Voted Roddick as well.

This is just singles, right?

I think hewitt, people underestimate him. This year he has played well. He nearly beat Nadal at hamburg, shoul have beat djokovic, and i think he has 2 more slams one aussie and 1 U.S. he will be able to beat Nadal ad beat Fed. Now he has Tony Roach, so he will get him into competing condition.

Unfortunately, I can't see any of those mentioned winning anymore majors, not with the current crop of players playing. Yes Hewitt nearly beat Nadal at Hamburg but he would have had to beat Federer in the final.

I think someone would have to play way above their level to beat both Nadal AND Federer in a slam (that's what it may take), especially at the FO or Wimbledon.

he has won to slams..and went through roger and pete in doing so. i know he is a time-bomb waiting to explode sometimes--but going through pete and roger shows he can be mentally tough when he wants...

just a question of if he wants another...i would say that on a pure talent basis--he has the most potential to win another. but mentally...well...one just never knows with marat--that is what makes him so interesting.

Do you think he can still make slam finals now that Nadal is becoming more comfortable on all surfaces?

The only way I ever see Roddick making it to the finals of another slam is if Roddick can play consitent this summer and get on the other side of the draw than Roger. As well--someone is going to have to take our Roger prior to him meeting Andy or Andy will just have to covet his one slam and be content with that. Roddick needs to work his tail off to ensure he is the #2 seed in the slams.

You are right though, Nadal has shown he is good on all surfaces and being #2 in the world he will continually push Andy over into Roger's draws for now...
