Which of these rivalries of the last 2 decades do you feel is the best one:

-Graf vs Seles
-Sampras vs Agassi
-Federer vs Nadal
-Hingis vs Davenport
-Venus vs Serena
-Henin vs Serena
-Nadal vs Djokovic

Sampras Agassi was great....great contrast in styles and personalities. In the later half of his career, Agassi was winning those AO titles against Sampras so there was some parity too.

Graf - Seles was great too except for all that grunting. Also wished Graf did not slice the BH for once.

Nadal- Djokovic is turning out to be great in some respects. I wish there was some more creativity, net play and touch shots instead of the incessant baseline pounding.

Nadal- Fed is the worst. One sided, lots of nerve and tension, blowouts. Except for the contrast in styles, it hasn't been all that enjoyable for me.

I voted for Serena vs Henin. Lots of tension when those two were at the top together, it was clear they pretty much hated each other which gave the rivalry an extra dimension to say Serena vs Venus. And the matches were usually very high quality. Their head to head is 8-6 but Henin leads 4-3 in slams. Both have wins over the other on every surface too.

I voted Fed-Nadal.

As far as the women go, what about Evert-Navratilova? They played more than anybody and they were a Fed-Nadal matchup of sorts with Chris being the steady baseliner who thrived at the French and Martina bring variety and net play to dominate at Wimbledon.

The best rivalries, I think, come from the contrasts. The Williams sisters played similar games, with Venus holding the edge on grass and Serena's consistency winning out on the other surfaces.
