Which other country could host a Grand Slam?

There has been a lot of posts saying Australia should lose its Slam. Which other country could host it? Guessing it would need to be a southern hemisphere country.

How about South Africa?

China, just so that next time there is a perceived human rights outrage, the ITF can threaten to cancel a Slam.
They play the us open and Wimbledon without any question, this should end the question of any boycott

I wouldn't pay heed to Novak fanatics. They are just mad that their boy has been shown-up as a dishonest loon.

They are dealing with their anguish by lashing out at any external source. Australia just happens to be one of their targets.
I realise that but I thought a bit of a distraction and light heartedness was in order.

China without question. That country will be the largest economy in the next 10 years or so. Having said that Australia will never lose it. There may be a 5th Slam.

A 5th slam might be a bit much, China would maintain a presence in the Asia-Pacific region. It would certainly be well organised.

The first option would be America getting a second slam. There are many great options for a host city - Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Phoenix, etc.

Yeah sure, put another slam in the US where they've been rapidly removing tennis coverage from every sports channel amid dwindling viewership. The slam should stay in Australia but if it absolutely had to move, it should go somewhere in Europe, at least there is an audience for it here.

I think since this is the last time to have grand slam in Australia. The tournament could be moved to either Japan or China. Considering huge growth and impact of China in the world, it's natural for them to host it. So, China, USA, France and UK sounds about right. In China they could play it in front of 50,000 or 100k people which would benefit tennis immensely. Plus, I am sure China wouldn't be stopping, detaining and deporting their guests and competitors.

Taking the proposal to move the Australian Open seriously: Does any other country have facilities extensive enough to host a grand slam tournament? How long would it take to build a new tennis center with such capacity? A couple of years, surely?

South Africa would be the best choice. One tournament at the home of tennis, one in the Americas and one in Africa. It should probably happen anyway but the current farce should -in a sensible world -force it to happen. Make the Australian return to being the irrelevance it was in the late 70s/early 80s.
