If you could sit down and have a beer/drink with any pro player, who would it be? I'm thinking that it wouldn't necessarily be your favourite player.

Try to pick one from top 20, and one lower down guy.
WTA players count too, if you so wish.

For me, it would probably be Novak. He seems so laid back.
My second guy would be Stakhovsky or Hewitt.

Hard to pick. Just picking who I would think would be most fun I would pick in this order

Gulbis
Djokovic
Dimitrov
Federer

I've heard that Federer is actually one of the nicest guys on tour, and I've always been a big fan of him. So him.

I'll bet Murray can slam a pint or 2

I think Murray has said that he never really drinks at all, and that he has disliked the few times that he has. I would drink with Federer and Nadal just to gain their perspective on things, both guys apparently like to drink, and they are two of the greatest players ever. I can find more interesting and "edgy" guys than Gulbis or Fognini at the local bar, I would much rather drink with two GOATs. :)

No way I would have beer with Federer 2004-2007. You know, that perfect guy with perfect hair. Now that he has become a mortal player and parent of 4, he seems to be less full of himself so a beer would probably work.

I like Murray, Wawrinka, Ferrer, Tsonga. Hardworking guys.

Nadal - not sure. He is weird.

Djokovic, Raonic, Berdych, Dimitrov, Tomic, Soderling - no thanks.

Absolutely Ernests Gulbis, that guy knows how to party. Probably Tipsarevic and Gasquet(he can hook me up with blow).

Roddick is exactly the guy you want to be with out trolling for McDonalds at midnight. Maybe do a coning or 2.

No thanks. Don't like bullies.
Coning is stupid and pathetic thing to do anyway. Not my idea of fun. But I can see that being something Roddick would enjoy.

Hmmmm, to get smashed with Fed would be cool and interesting. Any of the Aussies too...

Hey now, we said "a beer"
Smashed? I'd get smashed with Rafa :)

I forgot about Andy. Yeah, retired players are allowed too.

His pressers were always funny.

Retired, dead players?

Arthur Ashe.

Old, but still around: John Newcombe, because of the stories he could tell. He got drunk with W!!!

And strangely Brad Gilbert, who is such a hot dog. But I like his sense of humor.

And after today's match, Tommy Robredo, who I think is a stand-up guy.

I'd really like to have several beers with Robbie Koenig. He's a little guy, only 5' 8', but he was actually 29 in the world at one time in doubles. I think he is very intelligent, and I'd like to pick his brain re tennis!

And Jim Courier, who I think is one of the most intelligent guys around.

Ivanovic, but I would insist she drank champagne!

For a night out on the town with the guys, it would have to be Boris Becker.

For partying alone, Safin and Nalbandian and it's not even a question (Tomic could join too)

To enjoy a beer and talk, Delpo and Robredo.

To get drunk with? Vasek ;)

To have a drink with? Hmmm... Someone who is really cultured, and can talk about a myriad of topics. I think Tipsa would be interesting. Also, maybe Clijsters?

Definitely Gulbis, one of the only straight-shooters on tour, and hilarious to boot. Sometimes he reminds me of a real life Borat with the things he says.

Second pick would be Roddick.

Current crop, only Gulbis.

Retired players - Safin, Philippoussis & Rios.

Players from the 70s and 80s such as Panatta, Nastase, McEnroe, Becker, Vitus etc.

All real men who never cried when they lost and who chased lots of women, partying etc unlike the current "Big 4" who are girly men, metrotesticles or whatever you call them.

Victoria Azarenka, Wozniacki (I don't even like her that much but I think she's interesting). With the guys, maybe with Rafa.

That's a fair enough joke. Though the truth of it is that the Big 4 in particular are a lot more professional than any other group of players we have ever seen, maybe bar the exception of Lendl. It is one of the reasons that they have taken the game to a new level.

Safin may have screwed some good hookers in his time but when he's an old man and ruminates on his life, he may regret the partying and wished he concentrated a bit more on his tennis.

Gulbis? A rich kid who has never known what life is, how hard it can be. Someone who takes for granted the opportunity he has and the lifestyle he has and acts like a baby on the court. Why would anyone want to have a drink with him, he can't compete with the best so he says stupid things in his press conferences. He hits big shots just to prove he has talent but nothing else.

I'd have a drink with the top 4. Wawrinka, Roddick.

Can't compete with the best? He broke into the top 10 in August. What's your highest ranking? Sounds like you're jealous--hate anyone who can make a buck more then you, huh!
