Which Pro would you most want to have a beer with?

Can't compete with the best? He broke into the top 10 in August. What's your highest ranking? Sounds like you're jealous--hate anyone who can make a buck more then you, huh!

By best I mean top 4/5. Ok I overreacted a little, but the guy has had so much money pumped into him and then behaves badly on the court. He really doesn't know what he has. What he does have is the mentality of a 5 year old.

Ana Ivanovic, but with a vine instead of a beer!

Jelena Jankovic, just to talk.

Concerning guys, maybe David Ferrer, he seems to be one of the most sincere guys in the tour

No Murray, he looks too inclosed
No Nadal, he looks inhibited and with a very limited horizon
No Djokovic, he is a good guy, but tries to make good impression too much

Murray, Nadal are just introverted.
Djokovic, Federer are the extroverts.
Nothing wrong with that, but I agree that Murray and Nadal would be more awkward to talk to.

Introverts become talkative after a few beers. ;)

I was just thinking that it would be interesting to talk to Dodig. He's made whatever success he's had the hard way. I'd like to here his story, how he managed to keep going and not give up. ;)

Cool thread. Bumping it to see who you would pick from active players.

I would pick Casper Ruud - he can bring his GF and sisters too! Max Purcell gives the surfer vibe and those are usually laidback people who are fun to drink with. If I can pick doubles players, I would go with Rohan Bopanna.

Outside TTW, in Spain, Rafa was voted as the best bar partner to spend time drinking beer each year from 2011 to 2019 (surveys weren't conduted in 2020 - 2023). And not only among tennis players.

EFE/Practica Español, June 17, 2019: ¤¤ Rafa Nadal and Penelope Cruz, the favourites for going to drink beer

Tennis player Rafael Nadal and actress Penelope Cruz are chosen by the Spaniards as the ideal bar partners to spend some time drinking beer and this is revealed by the annual Brewers of Spain survey made by Madison Market Research.

In this new edition of the study, the Spaniards repeat their preference for Nadal one more year and among the women, they choose Penelope Cruz. They are followed, respectively, by the presenter David Broncano, and the actors Antonio Banderas, Blanca Suarez and Elsa Pataky.¤¤

People in Spain know that Rafa has multiple interests and can talk about many topics (football, golf, yachting, fishing, cooking, business ... ).

Nick Kyrgios.
In my experience talking with Hollywood actors and big shots musicians is: never chat with them about what they do and their achievements, Is better to talk about something else, that way they relax and have a good time.

Would't mind to have a beer with Penelope...

If you could sit down and have a beer/drink with any pro player, who would it be? I'm thinking that it wouldn't necessarily be your favourite player.

Try to pick one from top 20, and one lower down guy.
WTA players count too, if you so wish.

For me, it would probably be Novak. He seems so laid back.
My second guy would be Stakhovsky or Hewitt.
Everyone would say Medvedev if they were:

1) Honest
2) Smart
3) Paying attention

Med would be fun as long as there's someone else to get picked on, otherwise he may direct his snark at you.

so, Med and Rublev duo

the conversation would inevitably degrade into paternity talk given that my daughter is the same age as Med's lol

Good choice, one on one would be akward. Medvedev these days always steers interviews/conversations towards his daughter - he adores her.
