I am new here so if a similar topic has been covered just say so. Having read all these threads about paintjobs on the ATP Tour, do you guys know of any pros that definitely are not using paintjobs?

Eg. Roddick - Babolat Pure Drive

Who's the person that drew this? I can't remember. Whomever you are, thanks. Anyway, draw your own conclusions about Fed's racquet.

EDIT: Oh yes, I think it was Shiny. Thanks, dude

As far as prince players go:

Malisse - Diablo
Coria, Davydenko, and Sanguinetti - O3 Tour

Malisse does not play stock Diablo. He uses an older Price frame with Diablo PJ. I think his racquet is 28 inches long.

coria defintely uses the o3 tour, besides how can he even have a paintjob with the weird holes in the o3 to string it, its pretty hard to make it look like a racquet it isnt.

babolat users?

roddick? lopez? ljubicic?

well not the pure storm users. theres been rumors about gonz's and ginepri's sticks being a pure control instead with a pure storm pj.

Wow, I didn't realize that. Prince says he uses the Diablo Mids, but they looked more like the MPs to me, with some lead at 9 and 3. What does he use then? The Precision Retro like J-Cap?

Do Ancic and Srichaphan really use the Yonex RD Ti-80?

Also I am pretty sure Andy Murray uses the Head I.Radical without any paintjobs.

I heard Henin Hardenne and Davenport really use the Wilson Ncode NTour.

Henin-Hardenne´s racquet has so called powerholes (a kind of grommet system), which are not used in stock ncode racquets. The powerholes are visible even on tv picture. Her racquet is absolutely a custom-made.

Ancic yes, Srichapan not, he uses the URD Ti-70.

Henins racket is not custom made. It's the old HH 5.3 (the first version with Power Holes) in a longer version and some weight in the rackets head. And with the nTour pj :-)

Most Babolat players do not. Only some PD players like Moya and Clijsters use the old version without Whoofer system. And most Pure Storm players (Gonzales, Ginepri or Massu) probably use a Pure Storm. But it's the same mold and the rest is customized anyway. So can we speak about paintjobs in this case?
The same question for all "nSix-One players". Do they use nCode? Or Hyper PS? Or PS 6.1? Is there any difference between these three rackets???
Most Tecnifibre players do not use pj. Stepanek (Völkl Tour 10 V-Engine) as well. All Head Instinct players if they didn't "switch" to Flexpoint.

Srichapan uses the TI-70 Long? Are you sure? A Yonex rep told me he uses the Ti-80 with custom drilled 18x20 string pattern, which is pretty much the same as a Ti-70 Long cut down to 27" and a little flexier. But it's possible it is still the Ti-70 Long that he used to play...only major differences between the two is string pattern and length.

What interests me is that with manufacturers like prince (with the O3 tour with the huge holes on the side) and head (with the flexpoint holes) they are surely making it harder for themselves to do realistic paintjobs that people with an untrained eye for them would believe. The more advanced racquet technology keeps getting the harder paintjobs will become.

Max, Gaudio, Kiefer, and other nSix-One 95 users all use the Hyper Pro Staff or the Classic 6.1.

Dent uses a custom racquet based on some other obscure pro staff model (thats why the throat area is dfferent)

Henin uses an obscure Hyber Hammer wtih powerholes

amazing and impossible for most racquets to be customised for each pro... they can just strip the paint job and continue to sell the current models right?

yup, i think that's the one. precision retro 28 inches long. and he strings it with fibertour. breaks strings almost every other game. must drive stringers at tournaments crazy although it's a pretty easy string to string with compared to poly.

OK, my mistake.. so I mean it is absolutely a paintjob, not the nCode they claim it to be.

Srichapans racket is standard length. But length is never an indicator for what racket really is underneath the paint. You can make every racket in nearly every length you want to. Srichapan said himself in an interview that he still uses the URD Ti-70. It was his first Yonex stick. So you can decide by yourself if you believe in the words of the Yonex rep :-) (I don't wanna blame this guy, he can't say anything else and I would do the same in his place!)

That's what I believe too. Only Henins racket is nothing obscure. Only a HH 5.3 Stretch in the first version with Power Holes and with a nTour pj.

well...the Ti-70 at only 17" IS pretty much the TI-80. THey have the exact same shape and are made of the exact same materials. Only difference is paintjob, length and string pattern.

Are they made by the same mold? I'm not sure, but possible. The greatest difference might be the "Solid Core" of the Ti-80. They filled the frame with foam. As far as I remember for the Ti-70 they didn't.
