Which racquets are similar to the Blade 98 16x19 (2015)?

Hi,

I have one Blade 98 16x19 (2015) stick and I really really like it. Just a great combination of attributes - at least for my game.

Excellent plowthrough but not cumbersome
nice feel to it without being harsh
some decent pop but still very controllable

But it is nearly impossible to find more of those in decent condition.

Are there raquets on the market that are similar? I also use an Extreme Tour and that on feels a little bit like it but are there even better choices?

The Blade V8 doesn’t feel exactly like it (no basalt fibers), but it’s still fast and solid and it doesn’t have a matte paint job.

Fwiw, there is a 2015 on the bay that looks almost new for a little over a hundred.

There’s plenty of Blade-style rackets out there and a lot of good ones. My favorites are the Diadem Elevate & Tecnifibre TF40. New TF40 16x19 looks most similar to the Blade v5 16m, & based on my thoughts about the old 18x20 it’s like a Blade but w/ a lil more crispness & free power, while still keeping the control & this super nice connected feel. Old one was partly foam-filled; new is completely foam-filled. Elevate is different w/16x20 & not box/D beam like Blade & TF40. But it’s fantastic; similar power to your Blade w/ great control & this sublime dampened but medium-plush connected feel. Also entirely foam-filled so comfort is fantastic. Wouldn’t blind buy, test em first, but they’re both great. Hope this helps
