Which set at 2012 AO final between Channel Slam legend Rafael Nadal and Serbian prankster Novak Djokovic was higher level of tennis, set 4 or set 5?
Djokovic was fatigued the whole match and didn't perform that well, probably at 50%. Nadal's level of play was his highest ever during that match. Especially in the fifth set.
NAdal did not comeback. He lost.
Nadal stopped attacking in the 5th set when the Serbian prankster started to hit the canvas, so I would have to say the 4th set was a lot more impressive from Nadal than the wacky 5th set.
Đoković came back from the dead in the 5th.
For us Nadal fans, set 4 was higher level, but perhaps for Nole fans it was the fifth. The fifth set was torture, seeing Rafa doing a Roger.
Except he didn't really. Nole just took it away from Ralph. The backhand miss only made it 30-30, after that Nole played brilliantly to break and just kept piling on the pressure with incredible returns and super solid play to eventually break again. While serving for the match Nadal was titanic but Nole still had enough to come through in the end.
You sure you saw the right match???
Nadal never served for the match.

3rd set was higher level.
Because when Novak plays his very best, Nadal can do nothing but bend over to his lord.
You take comfort in the fact that Djokovic fell over, Novak fans will take comfort that he's got the title. He also fell the the ground when he won the title. Nadal fell down when he managed to steal the 4th set. Doesn't matter if you fall, we all know who was the last man standing
The fourth. Rafa's desire to push himself was palpable during the fourth set. It resembled the 2011 USO third set, only with arguably higher stakes.
The fifth boiled down to Nole holding onto optimism until Rafa volleying up the line at 30-15, 4-2, finally blinked. Nole broke, then held authoritatively. The pressure turned back on Rafa--Nole then never tightened but crossed the finish line steadily.
I remember near the beginning of the 5th set an uber rocket forehand from Nadal cc for a winner which was absolutely brutal! It stood out so vividly too as he hit a lot less forehand winners than Djokovic so to see he could occasionally produce one was pleasant.
