Which set between Channel Slam legend Rafael Nadal and Serbian trickster Novak Djokovic was higher level of tennis, set 3 in the US Open 2011 final, or set 4 in the Australian Open 2012 final (both sets were won by Nadal 7-6)?

Those two sets were the most competitive because Djokovic's level decreased a bit. The highest level sets were the ones that Djokovic won easily. He was playing at a level Nadal just couldn't reach. :)

Right on. Djokovic was in GOD mode the entire match in US open 2011. Nadal was made miserable in that match. Third set though he sneaked out. When i watch the highlights of the match , i cannot stop thinking how djokovic used to be.

If you want everyone to believe you that Nadal is the GOAT, the least you could do is stop drawing attention to the matches he loses.

There's probably some ridiculous reality distortion in the opening post, but I'm not going to bother un-ignoring NSK or any of his alts to find out. All I know is that neither of these sets compares to the straight-up beatdowns that were the 4th sets of Wimbledon and USO 2011.

He is not a Nadal fan, he is a Fed hater. Slam king was a reference to H2H at slams, this one is a scoreline of Federer's worst loss, signature is how Federer fan was unhappy about two of Federer losses.

hardly any Nadal post from him is about Nadal alone, it is about how Federer losing somehow. These two matches are referenced as Federer did not reach finals here. You can spot a real Nadal fan very easily. They will cheer against Federer but will hardly spend a lot of energy and time knocking down Federer.

If Djokovic and Nadal's results against Federer were exchanged, he would have been a Djokovic fan.

Nothing to do with playing styles etc.

I haven't seen both the sets in full, only highlights. But they have a lot in common.

In both of these sets, Nadal just sneaked through. His back was on the wall after losing 2 straight sets. Djokovic was bombing him left n right. But Nadal reached his highest level of defense in these sets.

I would say US Open 2011 3rd set is slightly ahead

Well you may find his posts funny, but for someone who has been here for a long time, for them, his posts are pretty pathetic and annoying. And that's the general perception not mine.

Who wouldn't? Especially if he post the same stats at least ten times a day.

"Which was higher level of tennis?"

Neither. Neither player was able to hit a decent one-handed backhand in either set. Being able to crank a one-handed backhand winner in today's tennis is the highest possible level of tennis. :)

Intriguing question. I'd say a draw. But this is the one I'm really wondering about. Which Verdasco-Nadal match had the highest quality final set? ...

1. Monte Carlo 2010, final
2. Cinci 2011, R-16
3. Madrid 2012, R-16

These were three contests of who wanted to lose more, and the answer was clear in the first: Verdasco, being a true GOAT by winning only one game in two sets, and in the third match, with Nadal playing at a clearly higher level because of his disgust of blue clay. But Cinci was a true battle of champions, each fighting valiantly to lose. In the end, Rafa just wanted to lose a little more.
