Which Stings give you more power?

Hey, I was playing tennis the other day with my Ncode Tour 90, which I've had for about 8 months, and my strings broke on me:( , I'm wondering which strings I should use to add more power to my groundstrokes. I was using Wilson Sensations 16L. on both mains and crosses strung at 55 pounds.

I was thinking of restringing it with the Luxilon BB ALU Power Rough on the mains @ 50 lbs.. and Wilson NXT 16L. @ 52 lbs.

What do you guys/gals think?

Thanks,
SlAyR

I was in the same boat with my racquet, but since I liked my strings (SPPP 1.28) I decided to keep using them but at a lower tension.

Poly is a lower powered string than Sensation, and poly users tend to want to decrease ball speed or have durability issues with other strings.

If you really are finding that you need just a little bit more power, than a string or tension change may work. If you are finding you'd want a lot more pop, then either work with a coach or look at a racquet change.

Figures, a guy playing with a N 90 wants more power, so he wants to switch to Luxilon too? Poly is used from players that break strings often, want to tame power, and hit hard enough to make it worth while. Try using Sensation 17L at a lower tension.

N90 is a control oriented racquet. If you want more power, you should be looking to switch racquets instead of strings.

But, if you want to switch strings, the most powerful strings are monofilament and natural gut. Don't use Luxilon unless you want spin and less power.

I think unless you are quite good, you shouldn't play with an N90 anyway. But I will assume he is quite good, and tell him that switch string and tension first before you switch racquets, it is a lot cheaper.

That's true. If you can hit good with such a small headed racquet, experiment with the strings. But you shouldn't expect the racquet to be a power house even with powerful strings.
