My son is a 13 year old high performance tournament player playing with the Wilson Pro Staff 97LS (18x16 string pattern)— what is the advantages and disadvantages of the Luxilon 4G 125 in comparison to the Luxilon 4G 130?

Longevity. 16 Ga will last around 12 hours. 17 Ga will not be useable after 8 hours of hitting. YMMV since you are using a Spin Effect pattern. Find the right ref tension and they will play the same.
